Bagget might want to lose that nickname ASAP! After a quick google search:

"In July 2010, an animal was killed and reported to be a chupacabra, but found to be a coyote with a severe parasite infection. In October of that year, University of Michigan scientists theorised that parasite-riddled coyotoes (specifically the parasites responsible for scabies and mange) were likely the basis for the chupacabra legend"

Being called a "Cobra", or a "Zulu warrior" might be cool. Being called a parasite infected coyote... not so much.

I honestly can't believe that stupid bet on the Matthes show actually produced a nickname that got used more than once, nevermind made into a t-shirt and part of a broadcast. Weedge didn't even know who he was gonna use it on. Here's to hoping he works in Sperm Whale at Pala like Ping has been trying to set up.

El Chupacabra is the lamest nickname ever created. Whomever came up with it should be banned from ever trying to create another nickname for life.

I can't imagine that blake is cool with it.

Come on folks, this is proof no one reads anything but the first post. I already explained it. Every week on the wrap up show that Matthes, Ping, and Weedge do on iTunes the guys will come up with a new word Weedge has to say on the air. You didn't find it strange he threw in a random flower reference this week? Or nozzle at Texas? It was just a word he had to say, so he threw it out there when Baggett was picking guys off left and right coming through the pack. Somehow it freaking stuck.

Ping keeps pushing sperm whale but Weedge will have none of that.

Predator would be my first choice, but I also think Blake "Bagitup" Baggett has a nice ring to it. Or "In the bag" Baggett.

Spanish question, Shouldn't the definite article be the feminine "La" because "Chupacabra" ends in a? So the correct name should be "La Chupacabra".

We sound like dumb gringos saying El Chupacabra.

My mistake - Since chupacabras can be both male and female, el and la are both OK. Guess I'm the dumb gringo.

silly nickname... To start a telecast explaining what a chupacabra is? I watching the show with family, I was telling them how serious these guys take the sport, how hard they train, blah, blah... Then we start the show with 'Blake Baggett is a chupacabra', everybody got a good laugh. I guess motocross isn't 'there' just yet.

Shocked that Fuel, Speed, and NBC are cool with the inside joke thing. But then again the sport has less spectators than high school football. It's like girls passing notes in the hallway.
