I was able to get some Ti ProCircuit pegs for $20. Did the same mod to fit on a YZ465.

Thanks for the heads up about the RTV. When I built this motor 10 years ago I didn't know any better. While it was off I removed all of the little bits of silicone. I am a little concerned about the scoring on the piston and rings from the exhaust bridge. The rings move freely but they are worn in the bridge area. There also seemed to be a lot of blow-by.
I rode this bike when it was brand new, Ten hours is the best you will get out of a piston, they always would wear on the exhaust bridge, the moment you notice a loss of power change the piston. we did a new piston every other race.

That is a fantastic job! What I really like about it is you maintained the stock appearance, I have seen people do a restoration then put goofy stickers on it, or some ugly gas tank on it, its like they make a perfect cake then forget about the frosting. This looks just awesome! Congrats!!! Now the question is are you going to ride it? I know your vid said to stay tuned, but that looks so freggen nice i would be hesitant to ride it...

Thank you all for your comments. I agree with you, Stoop, about people screwing up restorations. It makes me sick. I tried to make it as stock appearing as possible. I even struggled with whether or not to leave the Race Tech stickers on the forks.......heck yeah I am going to ride it! Check out the vid!

Notme, it is a "Primary Drive" chain. It came from Rocky Mountain ATV/MC.

My rims are the original stock rims. I only respoked the rear wheel. I got the spokes from Buchanan. They are stainless steel. I can find the invoice from Buchanan if needed.

Very nice makes me want one and fills me with regret I had up till '00 an '86 CR 125 that was fully PC modded thier engine mod's carb mod it was bored out and pipe along with thier trick swing arm and alum subframe and suspenion mods. The swing arm was nice in that it moved the chain adjuster bolts in front of the axle like the '87 yes it was a fast 125 all mid/top. why did I sale it Sad

Man, that thing is beautiful! Good Job!
A couple of months ago I almost bought a CR250. It was advertised as a 1986, but I figured out it was a1985 and decided to pass. Back in the mid-1980's I always wanted that 1986 CR250 because of Johnson, Bailey, and O'mara.

I'm considering an 86 CR250 project, what are you looking for out of the shock. I had a WP on my 85 CR125, best thing I did besides a pipe. This project is 99% complete, but needs a complete motor rebuild.
