1/27/2012 12:59pm I was offered a 1983 CR250 for $600. Tell me about these bikes. Were they any good? I know about checking the water pump cover. Any other issues I should look for? How are parts for these bikes? Suzuki's are darn easy. How were the 1983 bikes compared to Suzuki, Kawasaki, Yamaha's. Any comments appreciated.

1/27/2012 1:02am I found a REALLY good way to start those old big bore 2 cycle motocross bikes like the RM500, CR480 CR500 YZ465, Maico's etc. Here is a video I found, I hope you find it useful. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FamfgXMW9Mc I can now start my bike in 2 kicks or less. 1/27/2012 12:59am I need a set of radiator hoses for my '83CR250. The '83 radiator hoses are a one year only and they differ from the '82 and '84 hoses.
Honda no longer carries them and ebay is coming up blank, aftermarket is also.
Anybody know where to get a set?

9/10/2011 7:56am When I got the bike it already had an 8 plate clutch in it. We just cannot identify what year CR the clutch came out of. We had water pump clearance.

6/2/2011 1:57pm You can use a water pump cover from a 1989 CR250, it is made of aluminum and it bolts right up. Honda no longer carries the 1987 water pump cover that is made of magnesium.
