The only watch I ever wanted that cost more than $30 was a Nicky Hayden Tissot, but still never bought one. I have to admit though, Movado makes some fine looking watches. I bought a fake on when I was in dental school and it looked mighty fine til it broke a month later.

My girlfriend, 12 years ago, bought me a Fossil watch for approximately $55. I have been wearing it everyday for those 12 years and it still looks and works fine.

My Dad bought a $10 Timex approximately 25 years ago and it still looks and works fine.

I can kill a watch, any watch.....except this one. Best watch ever, classic look, no real bling factor which is how I like it. Even after eleven years of abuse in and around auto collision repair I still have a Rolex dealer offering me more for it than was paid for it when purchased...which was actually less than that Movado. Wife got it for me for our 15th anniversary.

Sharp watch. Solid lines. I doubt my Movado is very tough...and sure as heck not gonna find out! Does your Rolex have a mechanical time mechanism?

Mechanical? As in no battery, yes. Let it sit over the weekend and it will have to be reset. Other than that, never have to wind it and no battery to replace. I've beat the ever lovin shit out of it and still not a single scratch on the face. Use it with air ratchets, impacts, been soaked with dirty diesel oil, cleaned overspray off it with thinner.....you name it, it's probably seen it. lol

I splurged and bought the wife a really nice one for our 25th last year. Not real glamorous looking but classy as ever. Platinum ladies president with an ice blue diamond face. Excuse my poor quality photo.

No shit! You can buy two used 125's for that money and still use your index finger and palm as a muthaphuckin sundial to figure out what time it is.

Newman, quite bizzare. I have the exact same watch you do, the Submariner, I bought it 2000 (11 years ago) for my wife I bought the exact same watch you bought yours, 1 year ago. Only difference between our wife´s watches is that there are no stones on the one I bought, only the regular dots. You have a great taste in watches, good timing Smile !

Nice Movado
I love watches.

I have this Movado

Not super expensive, considered the Movado "Sport Watch." I liked the blue face and had never seen one, and still haven't seen another to this day.

This is my prized baby. Without going into great detail, I got it as a reward for crossing a major milestone personally
This is a TAG Heuer CALIBRE S LAPTIMER for Mercedes-Benz

Other than that, I have a couple nice Citizen watches and a one from the Swiss brand "Police" that was given to Jacob Saylor for winning "Prince of Zurich" at a race a couple years back, he won that and a motorcycle. He gave me the watch (he doesn't wear watches) and kept/sold the motorcycle

Tip on good watches or getting a watch that will last, seek a "Sapphire Crystal," they're rock hard and will not scratch. Standard crystals are a man made crystal and easily susceptible to scratching or gouging. Spend the extra money and get a watch with the sapphire crystal, the watch will last you many times longer.
Also, if you get a good fine watch, they do require annual cleaning and servicing. Spend the money and send your watch to an authorized place and have your watch properly serviced. You'll extend their lives many fold

By the way, I'm sorry, I failed to mention, that is a very nice watch

You'll find it far more durable than you think. Stainless band with a sapphire crystal, that watch will look nice for a long time, even with everyday wear.

Nice Tag Dave. The dealer my watches came from is a good customer of mine and a car nut. He's always bringing in something high end to work on and always showing off some nice watches. He has one of these Tag F1 collector sets that I've drooled over for years. Probably the only jewelry related item that I've ever gotten amped up over. Not something you'd want to bust out and wear though and I just can't justify having something like this tucked away in the closet. Still though, probably one of the coolest watch sets ever. Not to mention it's obviously gone up in value over the years! Looks like a set of pistons in the display box.

Yeah, that's cool, I've seen those.

Not my style, and like you, much of it would be just hidden away.
If I had some big ass display case, maybe, but otherwise, no.

Thanks. The bracelet is tungsten carbide, as is the case. It's amazing what weight will contribute to a product's perceived quality. This watch is very heavy, and you definitely don't forget it's on your wrist. I never saw a blue faced Movado. Although the other watches are definitely top class (like the Tag Heuer and the Rolex's), I prefer clean lines and the minimalist approach in product design, and that's why the Movado suits me.

The Hurbot Tourbillon brushed two tone brushed finish case looks sharp, too. Do you know if Tag Heuer makes something similar to this?

Not that I remember.
Then again, I don't look at strap watches, I prefer bracelet watches.

I was looking at Breitling's, and thought the Ti Seawolf would be bitchin', the fucker weighs a ton, even though it's Ti!!!
I like Breitling's, but they're fucking lead heavy

My Movado is lighter, the TAG is heavy

I have a Breitling, it is a Ti model. Don't bother, nothing but problems with it. A few friends have them also and the same for them. The CS is also suspect.

They do look good. Got it at the Jewelers in Fashion Island. Never again, their attitude sucked too. Acted like they were doing me a favor for being there.
My daily watch is a LumiNox, the thing is bullet proof.

I don't spend on watches because I can barely see one and I beat the shit out of them. But I like these.
