The really sad fact of the matter is that people would rather buy a five year old two stroke than a bright shiny new 250 lb. four stroke. LOL!

I saw that, didn't read any of it so I don't know why he's doing it. Hope he sneaks a 300cc top end on it before he goes out for his moto, otherwise, why even bother?

Motocross for the general public will cease to exist. All the local tracks will be gone and there will be no place to go. The average person just can't justify the expense of these new 4 strokes to race on weekends or get their kids into it to do it. When they grenade,and they all do, you have an $8000 piece of junk,unless you spend $2000 to fix it ,and then sell it for $3000 to anyone you can find that will pay it. Where does that leave you? $7000 in the red. Look at the kids who grew up doing nothing but motocross with home schooling. Some of them couldn't even name the planet they live on,or who was in the civil war,and they are doing nothing in the professional racing world,except still trying,as others pass them by. Too bad for them and the factories and sponsors that supported them. That's what the factories are catering to,not the general population.When I took my son to Loretta qualifiers,there were over a hundred people in his class. Now his friend is trying for it and races against 10 or 12 people. The 4 stroke revolution for the factories is over,other than Pro,and Am,if a sponsor pays for the bikes. That's why you can sell an RM250 in an hour that doesn't even run,as opposed to the "just rebuilt" 4 stroke and wait for a year to get rid of it. People are scooping up used 2 strokes and fixing them because they can't get new ones. It's just too expensive and too much work to try and keep those 4 strokes running,and they explode anyway. In this day and age,people are looking for cheaper fun,like they always have.It's unfortunate,but in my opinion,that is the destiny of amateur racing.

And yes, I'm one of the guys that bought 2 used 2 strokes and rebuilt them. I did speak with my wallet by not buying a new 4 stroke. I still have my 450 and like it. Just tired of putting valves in it and have a shit ton of fun on the smokers.

Thats why kawy, honda and suzuki stopped making 2 strokes, riders buying used bikes! or not buying them at all. I think the term Speak with your wallet meant buying a new 2 stroke to keep the factories aware of the demand for the smokers, Buying used does nt mean the factories will produce them.

just signed. i thought that RM's was going to come back to USA market through Cernics up in the NE? from what I understand the RM's are being sold in other countries. Hell i would be happy if yamaha would bring in the 144cc yz that is available in other non USA markets. something to keep from getting asses handed to them by KTM releasing a 125 and 144cc offering.
