Speed doesn't have to try and sell commercials there, can't blame Feld this time

Because here in the states MX is contending with the fine motorsport that is... fast colorful billboards turning left in a large velodrome

Cuz thay ran out of money over here now mxsports and the AMA wants yours. Careful sometimes free will cost you later.
And how do you not catch riders in a B class cutting the track? And hell nascar is on at the least 40 places with live feeds.Motocross not one in the states?

Because motocross in Europe is like baseball in America.

They still need fans to show up at the races... Race Promoters don't mind the overseas live coverage, but i am sure they all prefer it not be shown locally live at all.

If fueltv or speed could black out the event locally that would help. The NFL still does that with games that aren't sold out..

Because MXsports understands the world wide picture unlike Youthstream. You get live TV coverage of the US Nationals. The US gets ZERO coverage of the FIM World GP's. And you fuckers wonder why the US does not give a shit about the GP's?

95% of US motocross racers do not even know there is a World GP Series. Get the shit live on a major network or shut the fuck up.

It's the same reason Speed doesn't want the sx webcast, they've even stated that advertisers aren't as willing when the audience has already been broadcast the product.

Feld?
Everyone wanted to blame Feld for the webcast but Speed owns the broadcast rights and this is no different. Before nascar was big time the networks tried the same thing, they had the same conflict with MRN radio but Nascar held out.

America likes Nascar, Indycar, ... more then Motocross and Supercross so thats why Speed and Fuel en stuff doesn't do coverage of the Fim World Motocross Championship... But there own series and not live! - And for the real die hard fans you can buy a package to watch the GrandPrix series online... But even that isn't possible for you guys.

Bye the way my experience is that Live Coverage isn't any competition to being there live on the track yelling to your favorite rider! I'm very happy that I can watch both series live. Now that YS and MotorsTV are back together and MXSports and MotorsTV are working together!

Because MX in Europe is a National Sport not a sideline like in the USA. Also people ride bikes a lot more in Europe than in the USA this makes a big difference.

dude thats so not true ... over here its nowhere to be seen ... ok we have the live webcast .. but you have to pay like 50 $ for all the races ... but there is no coverage in TV or Print media at all ... not even on a local base ... here in Germany ken roczen is a nobody he is only known by a few .. we have with max nagel and ken some fast guys in the gp but there is noting in Sport magazines or on TV ... they peopel know more about Drik Nowitzki than about ken or max ...
And over here Motocross is a very elite sport .. just because it costs much and we only have a few race tracks ... in europe we alway think America is the MX land of our dreams where everybody has a private track in his back yard ... funny tho ;-)

Its amazing how many misconceptions there are about this. Europeans would argue MX is MUCH bigger in the US.

Its a niche sport pretty much the world over, the average English person in the street for example wouldn't have a clue - the only person they might be vaguely familiar with would be Travis Pastrana.

and you think that is any different in the states? mx is a niche sport amongst niche sports.....I bet if you walked around NYC and asked who Justin Barcia is(a NY kid), very few if any people would know and he grew up less than 60 miles from the city....

I didn't say it was any different in the states, I said its a niche sport the world over. Its a common misconception that Motocross is a bigger deal on opposing sides of the Atlantic.

Belgium is the only place where this happens, but they only have a population of 10 million, the country is tiny and with all due respect they don't have many other Athletes/Sports stars to shout about.

It does count.
Pretty sure not too many people knew about Everts when he had yet to win a world title like Ken Roczen.

I bet if Ken Roczen won 10 worldtitles German people would know about him.

That's interesting, I would have thought different. I was working with some Italian people recently and asked them what they thought about AC and they said....... who?........ only one of them even knew his name.

It's all the more impressive that Europe turns out so many great riders considering the lack of places to ride and from what i've seen of the practice tracks on video, quality of places to ride.
