The bike Turner rode to a First moto victory at the 1975 Hangtown National was what again??? Look above.

Bobby's answer was correct; "that was a yammie" forgot to take rag out of intake trac/and put filter on without removing.

AKA his mechanic.

I might be wrong on the year. could have been 78'. anyway, the bike was a franks. I know because I was with danny and kelvin on the trip. we did 2 nationals. one was in keithsburg, ill. the other in mich. after those two nat's., danny stayed back there and rode a bike sponsored by dan h. (I don't know how to pronounce dan's last name but, he was the "d" of D & G). I think dan h. was working with tim mc cool. I remember danny wearing a T & M jersey. when we showed up in ill., dan h. had david taylor with him. I'm pretty sure it was 77'.

Said Kawi since I have a couple pics of Danny on one at a local or CMC race at McGills during the summer of '77. Sorry it doesn't show the bike well.

The Bultaco...rag in box....1975....rain and mud.....after Plymouth Dan Hagsleiben(sp?) the D in DG used a 125 Elsinore with shoxks moved up on swingarm, a set of Ceriani forks off a Penton 250 along with the seat, a Yamaha conical front hub and various other odds and ends to build the T&M Engineering machine that finished 3rd in the Nationals behind Marty Smith's Honda and Tim Hart's Yamaha. DT was the highest placing privateer ever in the Nationals and the only one in the top 11 that year. The Kawasaki KX250 was a '76 model Danny bought himself from Mike's Cycle Placerville (Ralph Thomure was his wrench and resident bong builder- aluminum finned Simons fork legs are amazing!) Danny rode that bike in the 1978 Anaheim SX and qualified for the main where he finished 14th or 16th or something even with a broken clutch or front brake lever dangling after a crash. The low pipe took a beating in the whoops. I believe the last big race the old rotory valve rocket ship competed in was the 1979 Seattle Kingdome event. And why no interest in 1974 or 1973 when Danny was a factory Monarch rider with teammate Marty Smith and another big name (back then)....? And who had the baddest 4-stroke in the late '70's? Yamaha tt600 powered Begnt Aberg framed BP Racing monster. Was that bike retro or pre-tro?
