78 was a beautiful day with perfect conditions at Plymouth. My Ossa sheared the flywheel key in moto one and I pushed it back. I passed Shu on the way back (he was there racing open bikes that day, just off Ossas and onto the Maico's). He shook his head for me. Spanish Bikes. I remember my heart dropping when...

Good interview.Too bad he didn't let his hair down while he was in the midst of his run as he would've enjoyed things a heck of a lot more.

The motor is made by Highland which is a swedish startup that has roots to Husaberg/Husqvarna. The story goes that ATK is trying to work out a deal where they will building a bike around a couple of Highland's motor. Here's a pic of the Highland 450MX proto which they hope to have to market later this year in their homeland...

Nothing for nothing but where in his podium speeches is there anything that's inaccurate? Jason was down by 30 something points and Dungey has been crashing and losing points the last 3-4 races and now Jason is in the points lead.Does that not qualify as Dungey throwing away the points lead and handing it to Jason?

If you're building a rider I'd pass on PC and just paint the hubs.If you use a good epoxy based paint they'll hold up fine. As far as the tank goes you may want to use someone for that as it's worth the couple of extra bucks being it's so prominent when you look at the bike. Check out this...

A lot of the cosmetic stuff such as plastic, gas tank shrouds etc. is most likely still available from Honda. It was the last time I looked which was only a couple of months ago so that should be an easy job.The motor stuff is also available so as long as you have the bucks & a good Honda dealer you'll be...

vntgmx Added a reply to Did anybody here buy a RM in 75?

4/16/2016 6:03pm
You could be right but I have a mag around here that tests both the stocker & the kitted bike.If I have time & find it I'll post what it says.Either way I'd have to strongly disagree as far as two different models being offered in the states.I've heard of the "S" model in Austrialia but trust me I've never...

There was not 2 different RMs in '75 but there was a factory hop up kit that was available(aprox. $200-300) which consisted of a different cylinder, bigger carb & a pipe(which looked the same but had either a shorter or longer rear section) & I might be missing an item but that was it in the states.
Thanks guys. The Gear Saver went in this morning. There is something drastically wrong when you have to loosen an expansion chamber to get to the oil tranny drain bolt. Oh well...[/quote:4e36d] Don't ya just love the thought the design team put into routine maintaince tasks way back when?

Oh & here's a tip.Ditch the DG head & put a stocker back on & see if you can find a usable stock pipe & silencer. That's been the best engine setup I've found on a true '74 engine.[/quote:5050f] If Mark chooses to "ditch" the DG head, I'll be happy to swap him out for a nice stock one. Or two...
