A lot of the cosmetic stuff such as plastic, gas tank shrouds etc. is most likely still available from Honda. It was the last time I looked which was only a couple of months ago so that should be an easy job.The motor stuff is also available so as long as you have the bucks & a good Honda dealer you'll be good to go.You may want to try to find an Ohlins shock for that thing as I've seen those around on ebay and other places & that 's a nice upgrade & a trick part.As far as those forks go good luck they are garbage regardless of who you get totry & massage them!

Any other CR years, like a 1995 CR 250 USD forks, that will fit on the bike?

I had one, I put 91 forks on it, a boysen rad valve, FMF fatty pipe & silencer. The biggest improvment I got was when i put a 39.5mm Kehin "D" series carb on it and added air box vents.....The beast just ripped!!! Truly a amazing bike.

LOL... nope, bd was in NY and his dad was in FL. Sorry to hear about your friends... getting one of my bikes stolen would make me feel ill.

Lee... do you have those '90 CR 125 forks? Would those work after a suspension revalve? With those fork replacement, do you have to change triple clamps? front wheel and brake?

The other option... you have a pair of 87 CR 250 forks, front wheel, and clamps. Would that be a better set up? If I remember correctly, the '87 set up was much better than the '88-89 set up.

The '87 conventional cartridge forks were excellent.

Its the same frame with a different head angle. I think that would be the best set up. I remember the MXA pounded Honda in 1988 for getting away from the '87 set up

I have the 1990 Forks but I sold the upper leg off one.
I think those 1990 CR125 forks have a different taper.
If you plan on trying a complete clamp and forks set-up off a 1990 or newer..... it won't work.
The steering stem bearings are different
If you plan on going cartridge conventionals, I have some from an 87 CR250 forks and clamps.
1979-89 CR250s use the same stem bearings

BTW
the rear sprocket is 51
