You mean an AMA guy demanding a back door deal to get races in the US?
I agree!
Enough of that

why does somebody pay somebody who did nothing something?

probably because he actually did something to deserve the something?

i know i make it a point to never pay people for nothing!

I agree Dave but just like in Prostitution the Payer is just as guilty as the payee.

So, in your opinion, a victim of extortion is as guilty as the extortionist

Makes perfect sense, Jay

So now you are accusing Amick of extorsion ?

Pretty lame Dave , you don't know all the facts and here you go making it look like he was an extorsionist.

He had a boss right why didn't YS go above him ? or was the President in on it too ?

I didn't accuse anyone of anything, only showing that neither of us know the facts but you're quick and ready to place blame.

In a case like Amick, if you think he's practicing extortion, then you go to the head of the AMA about it (or the authorities), otherwise it certainly looks to be an "agreement" (bribe).

I don't argue that, but in that instance it makes both sides culpable and not YS alone, as 500guy wants to work his anti-YS spin.

As long as by "sides" you are defining Amick as a person, not as the AMA..........

What and you think that Beasley and all the NPG promotors are doing everything above board
especially in their accounting practices after a race of this magnitude with a heavy dose of cash receipts?

The bottom line anytime there's a deal such as a national etc. where there's a heavy cash
flow there's bound to be shady dealings from all sides.I'm not saying it makes it all
peachy I'm just saying don't be so naive to think that the folks who are crying foul don't
have a little dirt on their hands as well.

Unless you haven't noticed large sums of money tends to bring out the whore in the human
species 9 times out of 10.

When shady deals are exposed they shouldn't be overlooked because there "might" be other shady deals going on.....

Geez,

Just a little conflict of interest huh?

"According to FIM sources, in addition to representing the AMA on the FIM Motocross Commission, Amick personally obtained the rights to any FIM World Championship Motocross or Motocross de Nations event on U.S. soil, as a subcontractor to Youthstream, the Italian company that has launched a bid to take over AMA Motocross.

To hold the 2007 Motocross de Nations, the race promoter was required to pay Amick a fee of $1 per ticket sold, which came to about $23,800.

Also after his full-time AMA employment ended, Amick was being paid a quarterly fee by the AMA to represent it in matters concerned with FIM Speedway."

I wonder how this Became public.

So the guy quits the AMA, but remains the AMA rep to the FIM. Then he "personally" obtains the right to any FIM race on U.S. soil as a subcontractor for Youthstream? ?????
This is hard to follow. But a rep from one sanctioning body, to another sanctioning body, sets himself up as a subcontractor to a race promoter that deals with that sanctioning body. I mean, is this as Mickey Mouse as it appears?

ROb DIngman is why.

And you know what ANYONE who was on the board of directors with AMA at the time this agreement was in play needs to go today! This is corporate OR Memebership side. Conflict of interest such as this simply can not be tolerated. ALL the staff is gone who knew about this, and so should the board who stayed dormat and let it happen.
I have not been real comfortable with some of the things that has gone on lately but if this is the result, exsposing this kind of crap, then I believe it's a great thing. The only way Ama cleans up is for this stuff to go public....................

wow. extortion maybe not, but for dam sure not appropriate for an AMA official who likely has a contract to have to be bought out of. for sure we don't need the Youthstream types who would enter in a deal like this doing anything here in the US.

$23,800 is going to look like chump change by the time this is done. And I am guessing there may have been more than 23,800 people there??????

Most probably.

I have to say that I thought Dingman might have been cleaning house simply for the sake of cleaning house, but if this is the type of stuff he has been running into and getting rid of, then more power to him.

Is it odd to anyone else that Amick would be so bold to call out the current AMA management when it appears he had a few skeleton's in the closet?

This might just get me to join the AMA again after 20+ years of swearing not to give the AMA another dime.

"might" being the key word.

"If I'm gonna go down, I'm taking everyone with me"

My guess is he had a heads up on this article, especially considering Ulrich knows all the AMA dirt and shit, and that prompted his departure.

Yep, something like that. Try to take the focus off of him misdoings......

Sounds like someone needs to kick Amick in the nuts a time or two.
