Do you think it's ever happened where the rider underneath the helmet and gear was not who we, the officials, or the competition thought it was? The name on the back of the jersey doesn't match the rider.

I think it would be more difficult to pull off in supercross as opposed to the nationals.

I have done it at the local level many times. We do it at the Reb Bud night races almost every year.

At the pro level who knows.

At a local/regional series races that used to pay contingency I know one A rider that created a fake identity to race B to clean up everything he could. He would do good enough to win or get in the payout range but made sure not to win the series so as to avoid being caught.

Thx T-Fish.

That's Charlie Dog. Loves laying under the truck at the races and always willing to help you or the neighbors finish lunch.

It would be impossible for me, I'm already a vet novice and I can barely crack the top 3 Laughing

I don't care though. For me, I just love being out there and racing every weekend.

I watched it happen a few years ago at a LL qualifier. I walked over and asked one of the AMA people what they'd do about it. The lady said one of the parties involved would have to bring it to their attention in writing and she had the attitude that she didn't give one ounce of shit.

I've seen the movie, but it's been a long time. I don't remember this part.

I was more less thinking about this past supercross season and thinking about how if Hansen or Barcia needed an extra race to heal up maybe Geico or Mitch could slip in another rider for the week to at least salvage some points. Obviously it would have to be off the podium, but some points are better than no points.

Found this over at Racer X on-line. Happened at LL's this year.

5. The Old Switcheroo: Just before the start of one of the Vet motos, a rider on the line held up his hand for extra time. When the card finally went up, another rider wearing full gear and the same numbered bib came out of the crowd and jumped on the bike. The gate dropped before officials could do anything, so rather than red-flag the race, they waited until afterwards and then blocked the exits of the track. Caught cheating, the replacement rider explained that he was actually in another class and he wanted to use his buddy's class for extra practice. Both were disqualified.

Yep, lol have seen it done lots of times. I know a guy who won a 5 race series and only rode one of the races and paid someone to ride the rest. It happens more than people think. SX or Nationals no way but local stuff all the time.

Matthes subbed for Ferry back in the Yamaha days for three straight races - no one noticed they just thought Ferry was a little "off his game" .
