Thumb throttle

I'm a quad guy looking to get more into bikes. I was wondering if I decide to buy a Yamaha, austrian bike, or Kawasaki if it would be difficult to put a thumb throttle on it because of the dual throttle cables. Thanks in advance!

I came from quads too and run the thumb throttle. On any 4 stroke its simple, use a 2005 TRX450r throttle housing, its about the smallest one you can get. Then use the TRX450r throttle cable, just plug the unused hole in the throttle body/carb. For 2 strokes you will need to either get a custom cable made or I just cut the cable to the correct length and use a new cable end. You will need to modify the stops in the throttle housing to get full throttle when using it on a 2 stroke. 4 stroke is just bolt on and go

Or just learn to use the standard twist throttle.

A guy I know has the thumb throttle.   Looks like it works perfectly.

I’m guessing Rick Johnson tried this after his wrist injury. If he tried the throttle on the left side , it would be a reasonable guess that he tried a thumb throttle. That is if he still had use of his thumb. His hand was really messed up.
