Is the rebound adjuster at the top of the shock just a "fine tuning" (narrower adjustment) of what the adjuster at the bottom does? Is there anything else to it?
I'm a little surprised at the lack of documentation after some extensive searching. Any additional info is appreciated.
If you are referring to the "Ten Low" adjuster, I believe 'Ten' is short for tension which means rebound in Japanese. KYB say its a low speed rebound screw but I have heard Enzo and MX-Tech call it a high speed rebound adjuster🤷♂️
lol, super helpful
What's funny is the documentation that came with the suspension doesn't even cover it other than calling it the "finetuning" adjustment of rebound. If you go further into the setup portion, it doesn't even mention it. Just "turn the rebound screw out/in" for different issues.
Edit: I'll also mention that this isn't super pressing to me or anything. I haven't had to touch a clicker in the first 7 hours on my bike so far and it has been great. I just like knowing what I'm dealing with in case I need to make some small adjustments for different tracks.
I haven't really messed with mine either due to the big misunderstanding of the adjuster, there doesn't seem to be a black and white answer for what it genuinely does. I can't say I have felt a difference by adjusting it, MX-Tech did make a video on the triple adjuster and did say the "Ten Low" screw will have very minimal effect, pretty sure they even said they think it's more of a super low speed compression screw? I made a mistake in my first post by saying MX-Tech called it a high speed rebound screw that was just Enzo that said it lol
Ah ok, got it. I'll just stick the standard rebound adjuster for now. It's usually the only adjuster I touch and it depends on how rough the track gets (afternoons at Glen Helen, for example).
One of these days when I'm messing around late in the day I'll turn the fine adjuster way in/out and see how it feels.

Why not learn?
Write down the known-good setting on all your clickers, sag, etc...
Turn that adjuster all the way in and go ride a lap to see what changed.
Turn the adjuster all the way out and go ride a lap to see what changed.
Turn the adjuster back to your known good setting.
Just don't go hammer those test laps in case it's a big enough change to crash you.
Pretty sure I said that in my last post.
Also, as I mentioned this isn't pressing. I'm not grinding race weekends and pushing my limits currently. I'll mess with it eventually and make some notes (I've kept a suspension log book in my truck for 5 years now).
I haven't tried one yet, but think I will. From a theoretical point the upper rebound adjuster seems like a terrible idea. If you choke the flow out of the resoirvoir (which I believe it does) on rebound it's seems like something that would cause the main piston to cavitate... If you can live with that I'm eager to find out how it works in real life. Would be very nice though to have the possibility to fine tune rebound without choking low speed compression at the same time as with the stock lower reb adjuster.
Is there any thread allready covering the "A-kit" reb adjuster?
That is exactly what I thought, MX-Tech made a blog on how it works and why it doesn't cavitate. My opinion is that it works as a high speed rebound adjuster because I feel like it puts more emphasis on the rebound stack, not that my opinion matters or is valid as I only have a basic knowledge on suspension and do my own work on it
I've seen that thing in use on a dyno when it first came out on a crf450r. Very slight changes across the range. I installed one in a 2020 yz 450, with pretty standard configuration reb/comp stacks. Seemed to work, but I'd like to see some pressure testing with that unit. If I remember correctly, the crf exchange stack is smaller ported with lighter stack, and yz has stiffer stack, with similar ports.
Still haven't had a chance to play with the "fine" rebound adjuster, but I did mess with the regular rebound setting at my last race. It was my first time on a "real" motocross track (Glen Helen) with the new suspension, so it actually got rough for once. The rear end was simply very busy, even earlier in the day when bumps were just starting to form.
So I went 2 clicks in on the lower rebound adjuster, which honestly felt horrible lol. I was really surprised at how much stiffer it felt. Perhaps not as "busy", but now I could feel much more than I wanted. Went back out 1 click (so just 1 click in from stock)... voila. Dialed. Just didn't have time to throw the fine adjuster in the mix since it was a race day.
No more races until Feb, so next practice day it's on!
