I bought a semi-running ‘05 RM125 last November and I’ve been getting it back in shape over time. By semi-running I mean it would turn over with very little compression and would then stall immediately once in gear (clutch does not engage.)
I put in a new head, top end, and found out the previous owner had redone the bottom end and added a Wiseco clutch basket within the past 10hrs. All Wiseco parts.
I feel like I’ve got it close to being done, however the clutch still does not engage. I’ve got good feel in the lever, the springs compress, but nothing. The push rod seems to be intact. I’m thinking the previous owner jacked up one of the crankcase bearings and the transmission now has too much play, and I plan on tearing it down to confirm. I did want to see if anyone else here had some thoughts since I’m only learning as I go.

Make sure your clutch pack isn’t sticking together if you haven’t already.
Make sure the basket gear was installed correctly, then make sure the assembly of the basket, washers, inner hub ect has been installed correctly…
Really hoping I just have shit luck with sticky plates. That’s at least what I see but I don’t know if I should expect to see them actually decompress.
Maybe I'm just an idiot... how does one make sure they don't stick? I pulled them out once already after they were all stuck together.

Sometimes it’s just a matter of a bike sitting for an extended period unused and the clutch needs to be pulled apart so they aren’t stuck together. Inspect the fibers and soak them in oil, look for warped or burnt disks and if everything is good reassemble them.
Finally got her going at Thunder Valley!
Awesome, she looks good. What ended up being the issue?
Not entirely sure. I soaked them for an eternity and still couldn’t get it to work right. The wide pits and elevation of Thunder Valley let me bump start it from neutral and after maybe 2min of putting around it started to free up.
