I did. Had some interesting parts, but at the end of the day it's a world leader, so I was not expecting anything other than a Russian point of view.

The talk about Russia joining NATO back in the day and Boris Johnson pushing Ukraine to not sign and peace deals stood out.

I can see it from his point of view, NATO encroaching on their territory for how every many years and Ukraine becoming a satellite to NATO and doing their bidding.

I don't recall any talk about all the deaths or misplaced people. 2 hours was long winded for me so I might has missed that.

Isn't the point of this interview to get Putins point of view on this?  Of course he's going to tell Russia's side of the story, of course he's going to say things that will justify their position.

Putin did say he had no interest in Poland or Latvia...unless they invade Russia...Is he truthful?  Who knows...but that blows a hole in the "we have to support Ukraine because if we don't he'll go after Poland next" line of thinking.

For me, I don't support Russia, at all, this invasion is wrong.  But...I also don't think its right that America is basically bankrolling NATO...So I'm still critical of all the aid going to Ukraine, and feel there should be much greater oversight to where that money is going.  I believe Trump would have the other NATO members stepping up and financially pulling their weight on this far more than Biden is.

America can't afford to be the worlds rich uncle who funds everything...from natural disaster/humanitarian aid, to our military, to trade agreements that aren't fair to America...Biden is screwing the pooch all around on this stuff.

My point was that I was not expecting some bombshell interview.

You are correct, the USA needs to stop footing these damn bills. I had some hope once we left Afghanistan those funds would be put back into the USA with the border, infrastructure l, literally anything to I prove the USA.. But nope right back into the war machine.

All of the hitters are out to distract from the Biden disaster and lobby for position. In the end Michelle will be the person for them would be my bet.

But isn't it about not letting Russia take the Ukraine thus getting a foot hold to take Poland next ?

" Preventative Maintaince " ?

I get what you’re asking or inferring; but, while I’d really like to send Vlad back to Moscow and TAKE ALL THE UKRAINIAN TERRITORY BACK!

Russia rolling on Poland would be an entirely different situation and would mean Western Europe, The United States and a total of over 30 countries would roll on Russia (according to the North Atlantic Treaty).

(Btw, WHO was President when Vlad took Crimea…? WHO was President when Vlad walked back in to the Ukraine in 2022 and began The Slaughter…AGAIN…?)

I just cannot believe how many Americans seem to fanboy the shit out of Tucker and his stance on Putin. I have been laughing at all the "I trust Putin more than Biden!" comments that I've seen after the interview.

Those people have no idea what Russia and Putin are all about. We are living through 1939 all over again, WW3 is already on it's way brothers.

Tucker Carlson is a Russian asset. 100%. This last week has removed any single doubt anyone should have had.

Why does he need Tucker?

His approval rating in Russia is over 80% after invading Ukraine. I would say Obama and Hillary are the bigger Russian assets as they practically gift wrapped the Ukraine for Russia to invade.

I think most of us are weary of wars and don’t have faith in any of the leaders to do much good. That interview didn’t do sh*t to change anyone’s mind. Putin is a dangerous dictator, Russia is a failed entity with a GDP less than 3 of our individual States, Russia has more than enough nukes to end human life.  Somebody smarter than me needs to figure this sh*t out very quickly.

There is no democracy in Russia as you very well know. Only God knows how many people actually support Putin because there are literally no other options people can choose from. Navalny just got murdered, and he was the only one from the opposition with true support. There is no one else left.

And Putin needs Tucker to convince the American people, especially rebublicans, that he is a great guy and this war is right and Ukraine doesn't deserve to exist.

Since our US government has a poor record for foreign relations, especially meddling in other countries elections and working to get those removed that don't align with the US military Industrial Complex, I am very interested to hear what the other side says.

The prior Ukrainian government was pro-Russian, which meant a closed market for US defense companies. So the US helped them get removed from office and installed a pro-NATO government to hopefully lock up that market and push Russia out of it.

Also, whether Russia is a democracy or not doesn't contribute to how the citizens think about how things are going for them. Democracy by itself is not the savior for every country or peoples on Earth, especially considering how badly it went early on in Russia.

If you have information or data that disputes the current approval rating for Putin, please share it as I'd like to see it also.

And no, Putin is not a good guy, and this interview didn't convince me otherwise.

Well, you might hear what the other side says, but I refuse to take any public word from the Russian side as truth. The very word "truth" in the Russian language, pravda, means something totally different than in almost any other language in the world. Pravda means roughly "truth for the current situation at hand", not "opposite to lie" as it means in English on in my language for example.

And I agree with you that you cannot implement democracy somewhere where you don't have the foundation for it. Russia has never had true, working democracy and I don't think democracy as we know it could be implemented in Russia.

There are no reliable polls regarding the support for Putin, but there are polls that suggest that first time since the war started, the public are against the war more than they are for it.

I don't want to be boring, but I very highly recommend anyone who wants to understand Russia and the current situation little bit deeper to watch this lecture. It has English subtitles and there is even a dubbed version. I cannot stress the fact enough that the current actions by Russia go much much deeper than whether Ukraine has pro-western or pro-Russian government, and are far greater than just Ukraine. I didn't say I took what Putin said as truth (neither pravda or istina), just said I wanted to hear what he had to say.

I was unaware of what pravda meant - I did think it was truth so I looked it up and I think I have the two words for truth correct. 🙂

pravda - subjective truth

istina - objective truth

Appreciate the links - will check them out soon.
