In high-school, I worked for a sign painter.  He was a bad alcoholic.  Every morning he would dig in his pockets for what small bills and change he had on him and send me to the liquor store for whatever that money would buy.  "Here boy, go get me a bottle of STAB and KILL".

Soccer

Football

Basket ball

Base ball

Tennis

Ping pong

Pickle ball

Racquet ball

All only take 1 ball to play……..

Motocross takes 2

I had this on the back door of my old trailer, used to get honked at then a thumbs up as they would pass by.

Think it’s the sound of the ball/racquet that is made that drives everyone nuts.

Pickleball is a fucking scourge on youth sports. Both my daughters play youth sports, basketball and volleyball, and every indoor facility is transitioning courts to pickleball courts where middle-aged asshats are taking over the scene, and taking it very seriously. I hate them and their sport with my whole body, including my peepee.

What in the hell is Pickleball?

Edit - I Googled and got this.

Padel and pickleball are both growing racquet sports, but they differ significantly in court layout, equipment, and gameplay. Padel is played on an enclosed court with walls, using a tennis-like ball and solid rackets, while pickleball is played on an open court with a plastic perforated ball and paddles.

Padel is in South Africa is a game for the pompous high society snobs. If you want to play Padel you first need to join and be excepted in to the "Club"

(In my best psychiatrist voice, with a tinge of german accent)

It is obvious you are a deagan fan and are upset about his recent arrest doing harmless activities in the parking lot of a pickleball facility.

It is probably one of those pickleball-playing weenies that turned him in.

Now call your mother and apologize for hating someone with your peepee.

And anybody who has ever played racquetball knows it is the closest you can get to motocross wearing tennis shoes, unless you are kevin windham.

It is intense, strategic, physical, and as anybody that has been drilled between the shoulder blades knows, sometimes painful.

Real sports require eye protection.

Racquetball? Sounds like what we call Squash.

I played Squash from 14yrs old and my last game was I think when I was 36. It was a great workout for me when I was racing moto.

Yeah  I've had a Squash ball to the neck, face and many other fragile spots...it hurts!

If you're gonna be mad at a sport taking up too much otherwise usable space, may I introduce golf to you?

No shit! Trillions of gallons of water wasted. We have a big ass private golf course going in here north of Sioux Falls. Supposedly it’s some super high dollar joint with a limited number of memberships. Not even a mile from the only moto track in south east SD. Matter of time before those yuppie jack asses whine and get the track closed. Fuck golf.

Oh the joy. Today is the 3 year anniversary of pickleball becoming Washington states official sport. 🙄

Pickleball becomes official Washington state sport

Bainbridge Island – Pickleball was signed into law as Washington state’s official state sport Monday after prime sponsor Sen. John Lovick (D-Mill Creek) rallied cries to codify the beloved paddle ball styled game.

“For many of us, this has been a difficult couple of years. As we dust ourselves off from the pandemic, we need something to give us hope and something to remind us to have fun. Pickleball does just that,” said Lovick. “Inspired by a dear neighbor of mine, I decided to make pickleball my freshman bill in the Senate.”

Lovick said that upon his recent transition from the Washington State House of Representatives to the Washington State Senate, he sought to identify a “good bill that would underscore principles of unity and togetherness.”

“From youngsters and college students to the senior sporting community, people from all walks of life can play pickleball—and they do!” said Lovick. “When I first introduced this bill through to passage, from the very beginning until today, I have met just about everyone you could think of on the pickleball courts. Pickleball is for everyone.”

Joined at the inaugural pickleball bill signing by Gov. Jay Inslee were community members and pickleball stakeholders from across the nation, some of which went to great lengths to attend the historic event, including USA Pickleball CEO Stu Upson, who flew in from Florida.

“On behalf of USA Pickleball, and our members, we want to congratulate and thank Gov. Inslee, Sen. Lovick and the local Bainbridge Island pickleball community for bringing this bill forward to make pickleball the official state sport of Washington,” said Upson. “It was an honor to participate in this monumental day and be able to pay tribute to the original founders, Joel Pritchard, Barney McCallum and Bill Bell, in the presence of their family members and say thank you for introducing us to the sport of pickleball. The game has truly been life-changing for so many people and we look forward to continuing the momentum as we head into April, which is National Pickleball Month.”

Paddles were signed and many donated to museums and other historic points of convergence meaningful to pickleball aficionados.

“Pickleball is one of the fastest growing sports today, and Washingtonians are appropriately prideful in its origins right here in the Evergreen State,” said Inslee. “The first serve in pickleball is always made from the northwest corner of the court to honor the game’s roots, and this legislation plants those roots even deeper.”

It doesn't even look comfortable to play, they are always hunched over like they are picking up loose change with a ladle.
