Living out in the woods, we have feeders set up everywhere.
Set up a tripod last fall.
We also have eagles, osprey, various hawks, out in the lower fields, and nearby lake.
The last backyard bird count, we figured over the course of a year we get well over 50 different species of birds, either migrating through, or full time residents.
Feed store gets a good chunk of $$$ from us on a regular basis.
The BEST use of wildlife. Whenever the Toledo Walleye score a goal walleye get tossed on the ice.

@jace_the_bird_nerd
Has some good content.
Ive been trying to get close to these eagles for a few months now, spent hours waiting for them to fish in the creek below their nest but they mostly just perch when I'm around... this shot was when one of them returned to the nest one morning...I had just pulled up and luckily my camera was on the seat next to me, grabbed it and ran to the back of the jeep and shot just as he was landing.
I think these are cormorants... kind of a freaky bird. like the blue heron they remind me of dinosaurs in how they look and behave... I can't imagine these things ancestors were 12 feet tall - crazy!
Blue Heron at sunset in metzgers marsh...I was driving from pullout to pullout looking for wildlife and scared up this Heron on the passenger side of my jeep... grabbed my camera and as he flew past my open window I captured him with my 70-200
I always liked the Woodstork but no good shots of them in any bird galleries I've been to. Love their prehistoric look. I have some Whooping cranes that visit the farm daily. They are really cool. Florida is one giant bird sanctuary.
Nowhere near as talented as you guys with a camera, but I like to point and shoot at critters
Damn fine shootin' fellas. Nat Geo quality.
I found a remote lake out in SW Kansas. Big ass birds diving into the water and hauling out fish. I assumed they were some type of eagle or hawk. Nope. Turkey Vultures. They don't skim and grab...they just drop feet first and snag a fish. I've seen vultures my whole life. Scavengers...dead coons, possums, armadillos, dead deer. Never knew them to catch "live" prey.
I'll try to catch them in the act and show ya.
Pit Row
This is a South African Pigmy Kingfisher I snapped with my iPhone. It was stunned after hitting the kitchen window but moments later flew off.
Shot this doe stalking me through some tall grass - 560mm F4
I was able to sneak through and get a clearer shot…. 560mm f4
Nice work, boys!
560 f4 … now there’s a lens 👍
My helper while washing my tacoma
That’s probably one of the coolest mantises I’ve seen. Never seen one that color before.
A friend in San Ramone sent these. Looks like a cool place.
