The more I ride during the year, the pain I get around my "funny bone" area increases. It is likely a combination of gym, work and riding that stresses this area over time that creates the issue.

If I remember to warm up the forearms before, its not as bad. I generally don't get terrible arm pump..

Anybody deal with the same? Fixes? Causes?

Tennis elbow? Silly as it sounds I have been dealing with tennis elbow for months and it sucks. It gets flared up after riding or any other upper body exercise.

It sounds like you may have tennis elbow. What you need is a tennis elbow bar. You can find them on Amazon. Get one and do the exercises and the pain should go away quickly.

Tennis elbow/ulner nerve irritation. I get it every now and then. Eccentric strengthening helps. Hold a weight in your hand (10-15lbs is fine), rest your arm on a table with your palm down and use your other hand to bend your wrist back as far as you can while lifting the weight. Then slowly lower your hand. It’s basically a very controlled/weighted forearm curl. I will often use a theragun on my forearms and wrist flexion stretching to help prevent it as well.

I've tried the Theraband Flexbar, plus various suggested exercises, stretching, tens, e-stim, ice, heat, and even those stupid elbow straps you see the ladies wearing at the country club. I'm starting to think rest is the only cure, which is next to impossible for me. Going on 7 months now . . .

Tennis elbow is pain on the outside of elbow. Golfer or little league elbow is pain on inside of elbow.
Pain on inside of elbow can occur due to overuse of forearm flexors from activity or working out. Pain occurs at the muscle tendon insertion/ tendinitis.
If ulnar nerve is the issue you may experience numbness or tingling in hand or fingers 4 and 5.

Seems like your symptoms are more related to tendinitis. Whatever workout routine your are doing such as cables, bar curls etc should be toned down. Some ibuprofen and rest needed.

I have the same thing going on for the last 3 years.  They told me that it wouldn't do any damage and only cause pain.  They can give you an injection about once a year to keep the inflammation down.  If it doesn't go away...they do a surgery to make it so that your nerves and tendons fall into the correct position.  I've gotten through with using ice and ibuprofen as needed to help keep the inflammation down.  Try different handlebars and handlebar positions to see if it helps.

Don't do a ton of heavy weightlifting.

Tennis elbow is the outer part of the elbow (epicondylitis lateral is correct name I believe). Funny bone is inside are of elbow if standing in an anatomical stance.

You should get a tendon release. I had it about a years ago. Best thing I every done.  Out of work about 6 weeks. Made riding AND sleeping comfortably again.

Tendinitis?  I struggle with it in my whole right arm, shoulder/ rotator cuff, elbow, and wrist carpal tunnel area.  Tone your workout down and find out what EXACTLY is irritating it and cut back on it or stop completely.  Get a compression sleeve, ice bath/cold shower, you can ice it, ibuprofen.  My arm was throbbing after my workout last night (band delt flies, cable tri extension, cable curls, lateral raises, bench press, finish with 10 pull-ups.).  I don’t lift much anymore in the summer with the Mx and bmx riding plus I work on a farm, 30 is hitting like a truck.

Cut the weight and intensity on your workout down and make sure to warmup right.  Also cut out the energy drinks/ caffeine if you consume a lot of that.  Used to drink 1+ bangs a day then switched to monsters, 2nd one at lunch would have me hurting.  No more caffeine on a daily basis anymore.

I have been going through this for awhike. I fell in a concrete like corner at Gatorback when i was a kid and never could sit my right elbow on hard surfaces again to this day. Then golf elbow out of nowhere and then dislocated my elbow. Now its like tendonitis but numbness in hand and ulner nerve is definatly injured. I know this because i had surgery on my other hand and they had to manipulate the ulner nerve and hand was completely numb for months to where i thought it was forever but went away slowly. My original arm is just recently feeling better but ill never be able to set elbow on anything halfway hard or its ilke horrible funnybone  pain.

I went through this last year. It lasted at least 6 months and anything I did seemed to make it flare it up. It really is a dull/ annoying pain… Some days were better than others.

I tried it all too, I honestly don’t think anything ever really helped it, besides time. It kept me from doing any kind of lifting or exercising. Riding was out of the question. Lucky I’m the boss and the guys that work for me are young and strong.

For those of us that are getting up there in age, these old injuries really come back to haunt us. Thankfully my arm has been good for several months, but I haven’t been able to do much in terms of using it, due to my neck and back, which is another story.

Ice is your friend and anti inflammatories can help as well. But stretching or working out, only seemed to inflame mine. It seems like it’s never going to go away, but one day you’ll realize that you got over the hump and hopefully it won’t come back.

After reading through the thread, more of a golfers elbow on the right and tennis / golfers elbow on the left. Didn't ride much in 23, arms felt great. The more I ride, the more sensitive they get.

I'm going to do a better job warming up and stretching pre ride. I usually do a 75% 1st moto to get everything woke up. Maybe thats too much of a load on the muscles and tendons?

I'm 46, try not to take any pills. No prescriptions. Close to the best shape I've ever been in. Damn shit keeps coming back. I'll put ice in the rotation, never feel like ice really ever makes a big difference with anything. Got bit by a hornet in my big toe last year, iced it like crazy, damn toe almost blew off my foot it swoll so bad! 😂

I have a couple years on you, but good on you for staying away from any pills. Ibuprofen isn’t so bad, but I get what you’re sayin.
I wish I was in the best shape in my life. Constant neck pain and back pain have plagued me, I wish I could go without anything. Keep it up, that’s awesome.
