Brian On Swapmoto Live Part 2

Just finished Part 2 on YouTube and as a Kiwi/Aussie Brian and his family including Danger ⚠️ are the real deal! I know everyone wants to think that Haiden was born with a silver spoon in his mouth but after watching that episode Brian is a Grafter and that family is Humble. I will always be Team Lawrence just because but 2023 I wasn’t much of a Deegan fan but between what Haiden racing has done and Brian’s words and personality I am definitely a fan 2024!

You’re basing your opinion off of what Brian himself says? Think he’s going to tell you that Haiden was raised with a silver spoon in his mouth?

isn't being a grafter an insult?

Why does the money always come up? There's plenty of other riders who came from money. I don't see why, when the rubber hits the dirt, it matters at all. The guy built something, and it became well know, well branded, and he made a lot of money; American dream.

I am surprised people bitch about everything while the current generation is quite open and very articulate (which is not always the case for fans). If you watch interviews from the 80s or 90s, you can laugh for some time.

I like in episode one when Brian says he came from nothing but immediately corrects himself and says well I don’t think anyone riding dirt bikes around the world came from nothing

Fitting for all the Lawrence “came from nothing” stuff around here.

none of these guys truly “came from nothing” while racing Motocross. Just like how nobody playing travel baseball, football, etc. came from nothing.

and why does it matter, anyways??

Brian is amazing at marketing his family. When I watch him speak to media, it feels like I’m watching a commercial for a product a company wants me to buy.

So everything he said was 100% marketing?  Nothing from his heart?  It's a tough crowd here.

He must have realised saying he 'came from nothing' had been spotted as bullshit.  I've seen earlier interviews where he says it and doesn't correct himself.

Exactly! Motocross is a sport for people who have extra money to spend. Nowadays, there is a ton of kids who come from money who get sent to expensive training facilities, etc., yet, they are not at the top level. Just my .2 cents.

A few days ago, my wife said the same thing and also brought up Christian Craig’s son, Jagger. They have money yet Jagger just seems to be racing for fun and not at the level Deegan was when he was at that age.

Pretty sure that Deegan's dad as a high school principal in the 80's was just rolling in the dough....hyper critical much?

Years of being around Brian…from ghost riding an RM125 at LA to racing rally’s at COTA…& this latest part of his life as a race dad…

Behind it all? A dude that loves to ride and is a pretty damn serious competitor.

At the track with the kids when it was based down here in SoCal a few years back…he’d become a calm patient and supportive dad.

Seeing him and the family after all the cameras and hype of winning at the SMX finals just a few months ago…

I’m simply proud of the dude and his family and friends for making it this far and with this much success…all the while…he’s still the same dude I met back in his Rockstar era. Just a helluva lot more relaxed and content.

Bye the way, the little kids of SoCal love Danger Boy and he was impressively good to his “little” fans at LA.

So, there’s always that.

If anything it makes it harder to not be Billy Madison chasing imaginary penguins around. Takes a lot of drive to try to blaze your own path,

Yeah I was a fan of Haiden's for that very reason.. Isn't there a saying that goes something like 'it's hard to wake up and work when you're sleeping in silk sheets' He was essentially born a millionaire and could've made a living doing silly kooky stuff with his youtube platform but he chose to work his arse off and that is to be respected!

He's lost me lately trying to be billy badass with the trash talking and trying to get in peoples heads.. Pretty sure that's not cause his dad is rich though haha

Why does it matter you ask?  Because it's bullshit, and another instance of Deegan's relentless branding of every aspect of his life.  He didn't come from 'nothing'.  What a phoney.

What do you consider coming from nothing....and can you give us an example of someone that came from nothing?
