Assuming no broken or cracked knobs, look at the front edge or drive edge. When the edge is getting rounded, you can flip the tire, for a fresh edge at the expense of some braking performance. Flipping the tire only applies to non directional tires.

That is a good practice tire and for lower class racing. Not good for a pro racer.

Lets see a side photo of the knobs I judge by sharpness of the leading edge OR you could flip to get a fresh edge.

I replace when they are like that if I am racing on it. I have two rear wheels and that would be my practice wheel, while the new tire goes on the other.

You could flip it for sure, as expensive as tires are I would flip it
