Hi guys !
Long story short, I'm looking for a spring fork for my '21 250 FC.
I found a good deal on a '10 300 EXC (European model I think ?) with Ohlins inserts.
I'm not familiar with these Euro bikes and I wanted to know what will be needed to mount these forks on my bike ?
I think the fork will have the old "big" axle and my bike has the "small" axle ?
Which lugs can be mounted on these forks ? Any lugs from any modern WP fork ?

These are open cartridge forks ... good for enduro, okay for MX.
Are you sure about the wheel ? From what I could find on this forum, the pre-2015 models (not sure about 2015 ?) used the large axle while the new ones use the small axle ?
The cartridges inside the forks are not the stock opened ones but Ohlins TTX inserts, I'll have to revalve them for moto and I'll be good to go I think !

Use the EXC wheel spacers with the EXC axle. FC wheel spacers with the FC axle.
EXC wheel spacers fit FC wheel and vice versa.

I'm not the biggest fan of the closed cartridge forks ... I think they suck for racing over big successive bumps on corner entry ... a lot of people rave about them, maybe I just haven't ridden a good set yet and am too familiar with what a set of current Yamaha forks is like. I had the closed cartridge forks on my 2013 350SXF and 2009 300XC. They work best on my 300XC trail bike.
I haven't ridden 4CS, but a lot of guys say they'd prefer anything over those forks.
I think one of the earlier open cartridge forks might be a decent substitute to a set of 4CS, but you would definitely need to valve and spring them for your weight.
The wrap-around fork guards used on the earlier gen KTMs are required for the CC. The ones from the AER, 4Cs, etc. won't work.
If anyone comes across this is in the future, make sure you get your front wheel spacers seated all of the way inside the wheel.
I put large axle Ohlins RFX48 forks on my 2021 KTM 350 and I had one heck of a time figuring out why the wheel and axle were in a bind. After a few hours of swapping wheels and spacers I finally realized the spacers were not properly seated inside the wheel.
Sounds simple, but I had to physically move around the hub spacer inside the front wheel to get the spacers to completely seat.
Would you just slide the forks out of the top of the clamp by 13mm?
I'm wanting to put some ohlins forks from a 2018 TC250 on a 2005 KTM 400... Not sure if its going to work... but i suspect the only difference is the fork guard mountings... (will have to use the correct wheel spacers, triple clamps and fork guards...?)
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated
