Looking at the Renthal R1 Gold chain for my RMZ 450...is this a good chain??? I'm assuming the stock chain that came with my bike is crap???

Or do I buy the Renthal R3 O Ring chain???

great product, O ring great also, requires a tool though, no need to lube, maybe wd40 or o ring chain lube after washing. ert2 chain from did is really good also., plenty of good stuff out there, rk, pro taper.o ring probably more $$$ though

Get a DID 520VT2. You'll thank me in a couple of years, when the chain is still in good shape.

From my experience the Renthals stretch out a lot for the first 10 (guessing, no meter) hours, after that they seem to hold up great and last for a long ass time.

I only ever ran one on my yz250, haven't put one on the 4 fid yet.

Renthals are Regina chains in a Renthal box, I think it's an ORN or ORS series chain, and yes, they are great chains. Someone my need to correct me, but I think the stock chain on your RMZ is a DID X-ring sealed chain and a great one at that.
DID does not offer this chain aftermarket, if you look on the plates it will tell you what kind it is. Google that shit up, and look at the tensile strength and wear index numbers to compare apples to oranges.

The OEM DID x-ring chain found on the RMZ and CRFX is an un-plated version of the 520 VT2.

I like Renthal Chains. I do however run them with Pro Taper Sprockets.

The stock DID O ring is junk. Mine was kinked up within an hour of ride time. Replaced it with a Pro Taper chain and it has held up great. I run either Renthal or Pro Taper... whichever is cheaper. They last the same.
