Your Underrated Rockers ?

I'll start off ( If i may ?) with Rod Stewart - sure he's a lounge-singer now, but at

one time - his raspy voice powered some killer music with some raucous bands.

BAD COMPANY - Paul Rodgers has one of of rock's greatest voices and BC had some

awesome tracks and albums.

TALKING HEADS - Byrne and Company could rip it up...

SUPERTRAMP - Some cool, intricate, power pop, especially popular in Europe - Italians

were nuts about 'em (Neil Young, too....)

Pretty good picks.
Rod Stewart I think his best stuff was early to mid 80's. Still had some of the old feel with a more modern sensibility.
Paul Rogers, one of the most copied voices, have heard him with Queen? Hasn't seem to lost much range as people do as they age.
Supertramp, One of the things I like about a lot of the older bands is their songs actually go somewhere. That is to say it is not just a bunch of hooks and riffs thrown together but have an actual theme.

Mother's Finest, literally shamed Aerosmith off the stage at the old Charlotte Colosium
Blackfoot, just came out and smoked, capitol SMOKED, Foriegner and anybody else they opened for when Strikes was first released.

King's X, boy there is a band that should have. I totally agree. Poison did and they didn't!

Hate to admit it, but I have to agree with you on this one. It is actually in the disc player in my truck as I type this. I also agree with Grendel, Violent Femmes may have been a little ahead of their time! Both of these disc get a pretty good dose of play around my place.

I have to chime in on the Violent Femmes.
Talking heads had some great stuff too. I wish they still did music videos like that today.
I wish I could remember the guy that did those 2 vids with the chicks in black dresses playing guitars. The songs were pretty good too. Somebody help me out here.

I'd definately say John Taylor is an underrated bassist.

I usually stay at Horseshoe

Do well there and at Harrah's

I know they changed the name of Sheraton, haven't seen it since...did they remodel it?

I also do well at Sam's Town



The other are hit and miss, Bally's is OK

Hollywood and Fitz are holes

Ya it's pretty bad when the drummer shows up at the pool hall/bar and they announce he's on the bar side if anyone would like to meet him and then noone goes.

Dave, next time you are there and want some good eats--head south on 61 in to the town of Tunica. There is an old diner called the Blue and White, some got damn good cookin goes on in that place. Great breakfast and plate lunches--all the farmers and locals eat there. It really is the only thing worth much in that town.

Alot of the bands you guys chose aren't really underrated. Blondie and Joe Walsh are in the R&R HOF. My pick for the underrated rocker is Zebra. 35 years, all original and still going.
