Don't believe I'll be watching it again. Any advertisers that spent good money on that rubbish got taken for a ride.

Yes she was good, but I see way too much Fantasia in her. That chick was a train wreck. I hope the Mamma gets a contract out of the deal but I want to see better for the win.

you really think that wasnt staged? they knew it was gonna be a flop, needed something to get it some publicity.

I liked Cowel's Veyron out of all.
Has anyone noticed all the Brit accents on American TV lately? Love my Brit friends but they seem to be all over the place here. That said, how about that female Brit judge that got canned. Wow, she is gorgeous.

It was a little better tonight but still mostly pathetic. It's like a bad version of American Idol all the way down to the host. Seacrest is 1000 times better and I don't really care for Seacrest. They could have cut out all the pathetic drama and condensed the couple of half decent performances down into a 10 minute show and saved an hour and fifty minutes of my pathetic life. The obviously staged bad performances were insulting. Last night it was the dude swinging his dick and tonight is was the hillbilly from Kentucky. It could be a good show if they cut out that bullshit. I've about had enough of Simon too. WTF is up with string dude with the pink hat? That dude and Simon should shack up together.

i dunno if it was staged or not. but i will agree with you, 100% they knew it would be a flop.

paula abdul was way over the top with her reaction.

and as for voidmains synopsis.......i agree totally. waaay too over-dramatic. im suprised that Fox would run this show as it is just a american idol knockoff. is american idol still gonna run this year? other than the live audience, what is supposed to be the difference in the two shows?

I'm a huge American Idol fan, and Simon was always funny on Idol. I thought X-Factor would mean the end of Idol. I was wrong. Not at all impressed with X-Factor. I think JLo and Tyler are great on Idol, and Simon comes across as just ordinary on X-Factor. Don't like the concept or the format. The best thing about X-Factor was the smokin' hot Cheryl Cole, and they replaced her. Not interested.

honestly, can you please list the differences in the two?

other than the xfactor production being overly dramatic, and the live audience. what is the difference in the two? im curious as to how someone can love american idol yet not be a fan of xfactor?

you say the concept and format is different....please explain.

I guess unless you've watched them both regularly you could tell the difference. I can certainly tell the difference. I think for me I like Tyler, JLO, and the Dog 100 times better than Simon, Paula, and whoever the rest are. Seacrest is way better than the host of X factor too. I also like the non-live audience preliminary rounds much better. The fill in music and drama are too much for me. Yeah, Idol has the sappy stories but X factor takes it way way too far.

ok, so the format and concept arent really that much different.

you just feel the execution and production value of Idol is better. and i would agree with you there.

but for someone like me, who only watches it for the shitty performances.......i could care less about who the judges are. i guess im just not big enough a fan to be swayed by the differences in the two shows.

thx for answering my questions tho.

Biggest difference is that Idol has a certain age range of solo singers - something like age 15-28 or thereabouts. X-Factor cuts the age limit down to around 13 yrs. old and has no upper age limit. They also allow groups, not just solo performers. In the later stages, they will divide them into 4 categories - boys, girls, +30s, and groups - and each of the 4 judges will then "coach" one of those categories. The huge audience present for the auditions on X-Factor makes a major difference to me, as opposed to just having the performer auditioning for the panel of judges on Idol. The audition with the audience comes across as far less personal, and crosses over into a kind of "Night at the Apollo" feel to it. I was expecting to like X-Factor because Simon was the man on Idol, and X-Factor is his gig. But it just doesn't work for me.

While I don't too know much about your idol, but the X factor has really grown into one of the top rated shows over here, the first part when people are pretty much walking in off the street are the British humour I guess,we like to see the delusional, bad contestants and them going at it with the judges etcSmile The way it works here is that they all go on too bootcamp and get narrowed down more and are split into 4 catagories, girls, boys, over 25s and groups and each judge takes on one of each, over here each group goes to the judges houses to be narrowed down again to see who would go on to the live finals, the judges work with their contestants picking songs for them, maybe dance routines and bringing in an established artist to work with them, etc, and the judges chose someone to go home,it has a lot to do with the judges working with the acts, and the performances obviously improve and you see things evolve

Sorry if I've gone over some of yzthumpa's post but that's just how it pans out here, these stages are a bit the same but its later on that it gets going and gets interesting, according to my Mrs that is,not so much my thing,I just sit through it myself and get online or whateverTongue

Oh yeah, nearly forgot, they all live in a big house together too..

I'll likely end up watching bits and pieces through the early stages, and start watching more when they narrow down the talent pool.
