C-Span - Usually has very good, informed guests and allows call-ins during the morning shows. Not terribly biased politically, and concentrates more on experts working on the issues.

I still readthenewspaper daily, the Times-Picayune in New Orleans. Surprisingly, theyannounced last week that they will soon stop daily deliveries and start a 3 days/week delivery. This will make New Orleans the largest city in the U.S. Without a daily paper, and people are pissed. I'm more interested in local news. As far as world news, I assume that if it is newsworthy, I'll hear about it on Vital, lol.

I don't do news. It has been the best decision I ever made. I couldnt care less what is going on outside of my world.

Vital...all the important/cool/controverial stuff shows up here. Plus, here, I get to read the news story, and THEN I get to read what the real experts here on vital think about it. Win/Win! Smile

In all reality, I get most of my news through facebook. I follow all the big local news outlets (Salt Lake Tribune, KSL. Deseret News) on facebook, and they post all the IMPORTANT local stuff there (its an easy one stop for local news).

For national news, I get the headlines from cnn.com, and msn.com. I don't "watch" the news...ever. Okay, not ever...if I have nothing better to do, BBC is always what I'll watch...for the accents, mostly. Smile But that very very very seldom happens. Only TV I watch is History Channel, Nat Geographic, TLC, Animal Planet, Discover, moto racing and the Bachelorette (dude, don't judge me....have you SEEN Emily Maynard? holy smokes!!!!! and !!!!).

Im not saying any of these are the most credible. But I have friends that are WAAAY into this shit and they really get into fact checking who is dis-information and who isnt. FYI, they think WikiLeaks is suspect as well as RT News... And they certainly dont follow anything the BBC is spitting out. They find Alex Jones to be the most credible. And Im not joking when I say that my friends look for ANY reason to discredit a news source they follow. Some of the stuff from that first list is pretty extreme.

In my personal opinion, I think one needs to get their info from multiple sources on multiple continents as well as checking multiple chat boards to hear what real people are seeing and talking about. I dont think it's possible for a person to REALLY ever know what is going on behind the scenes but with a broad spectrum from which a person gets their information, things get somewhat into focus.

Not one of you mentioned the local bar.

I guess I don't have to tell you I'm highly disappointed in all of you.

Haha.

Imagine if all of Vital MX could meet up at the same bar every weekend to watch the races?

A few people did mention Vital. This is the modern equivalent of the local bar. Or rather, its the local bar for the anti-social.

Even cooler would be if everyone would talk/say the exact same things they do on this board? That would be SWEET! Total comedy show....

I have a feeling that would be illegal in many states. If not, it probably should be...hide the women and children!

I get the headlines from radio. If something interests me I search it out on the internet when I get home. I also watch CSPAN but only in the morning. Drudge is also a good place to get top headlines and links to just about every news source there is.

Google News. It's usually updated the fastest, and being able to read several versions of the same story is nice, too.

I just choose a side, and let my team feed me the information that I need to hear. And if someone isn't on my team, I do what ever it takes to prove my team right, and the other team wrong.

That's probably really accurate for most of us. We're bombarded with info from hundreds of sources, but we place the most credibility on the ones who report what "sounds good" to us......

RT News is very good. There's a guy on it called Max Keiser who does a program called "The Keiser Report". I suggest everyone check it out.

Other than that I flip between Sky and BBC.

I heard on the radio yesterday that more people than ever identify themselves as independant. With 24% (R) and 32% (D).

For what its worth.

Wow, that's a great article. Good find.
Is that poll an indication that there are simply more "conservative" minded people in America (more than Liberals)???

That's what it seems like to me....obviously if they polled registered democrats the numbers would look drastically different.

It's "Wayne Madsen". I'll introduce you if you ever come to DC. We drink a lot of Guinness.
But it strikes me that you should throw in some mainstream news, because those people are all "confirmation" news sources for you, if you know what I mean. They are confirming what you believe to be true.

The mainstream stuff is just so I can get a wide spectrum. I like seeing the bullshit too, it helps put things in perspective. I get your point, about the "confirmation" sources. I dont find any of it credible.

Thanks for the offer. I'll take you up on it if Im ever in DC.
