Do people really save at Wal Mart? Or do they just pump more of their paycheck into their low priced made in china crap?

I dislike wal mart and their damn commercials they constantly air. Thank goodness the closest one is 200 miles away.

Walmart and home depot are like a lowbagger magnet. I hate them both with a passion.

Stopped at Wal-Mart on the way home from work tonight and picked up some groceries.

I hate Wal Mart too, but when you live in a small town it is very difficult not to go there. They ran all the other places out of business.

Is that what all those scumbags are doing in one line in the morning ? I've seen these people there sometimes when I get off the night shift, all in one line waiting, right by the tabacco register.

Wal Mart is building in my small town.
Lots of bitching from locals that Wal Mart will put them out of business.
I can see it on some levels but on other levels, Wal Mart fills a niche that others can't do.

If I want to buy a ice chest, a pair of socks and a can of spray paint, there is no where else in this town that I can do that.

The "Little Guy" at least in my town that may get hurt by them has been ass-raping us for years cause they were the only game in town. Fuckem....

I don't like Wal Mart & all of their baggage but local stores need to get real about prices. That will keep them in business as long as they want to be in business.

That is probably the workers cashing their paychecks. I have been stuck behind them many times when the midnight shift gets off work.

Low blows there guys.

You ever think that a welfare mom can't be able to feed her babies unless she shops there?
You ever wonder what it is like to stand in line at the place you work to cash your paycheck?
I've had to do it as a young guy with no bank account.
Hate Wal Mart if you want to but don't hate the shoppers or people that work there. Thats cold bloooded and putting the blame on the wrong people.

Hmmmm, maybe, but most of the women in the line have about 6 kids in tow, weigh no less than 320 pounds. Most of the men with them are basically toothless meth head looking guys(skinny as hell, unwashed). While there aren't many "supermodels" working at Wal Mart, the ones they do have are relatively clean and well kept people.

Do they even have a Wal Mart in Covington?
I grew up in Dallas.
You are so far south and west that you don't even rate having a speed trap.
What, are there maybe two ranch roads going thru your town?
STFU pleeeeeezzzee.
Your nearest big city is Waxahachie?
How many miles do you have to drive to even hit I35?
Your only solice is that you are kind of near Ennis which used to be home for Mosier Valley but that is gone now.
WTF else could be going on in Covington to make a job at Wal Mart not look maybe attractive?

The closest 2 towns are Hillsboro and Cleburne, both 15 miles away. I 35W is 9 miles east, I can be in Fort Worth in 55 minutes. You have my town confused with somewhere else. BTW Mosier Valley was located north of Arlington, notheast of Fort Worth, no where near Ennis.

I wonder how many people actually do live more than 200 miles away from Wal Mart.

Ah, my bad.
I was thinking Ennis and should have said Euless for Mosier.

Still didn't answer the question though.
If you live in Covington Freakin Texas and don't work at Wal Mart, then what do you do?

And even if you work a regular job, why make fun of Wal Mart people?

So birth control is solely to the womans responsibility and if she gets knocked up the man has no fare in this? Of course because she spread her legs.

First off the Wal Mart's are in Cleburne and Hillsboro, there are many jobs in the area for qualified individuals that pay very well (I'm at one right now), this county has also been one of the biggest for the boom of the Barnett Shale natural gas exploration. Like I stated Fort Worth is only an hour away, so there is that option also. Last, I never made fun of the people at Wal Mart, I was the one stating that those people in the line were not Wal Mart employee's. Obviously reading comprehension, on top of geography, is not your strong point.

Pretty sure I heard that WalMart bought K-Mart recently. But it's a give and take. I remember before Lowes came, our locale Hardware store was killing use on chainsaws and lumber and such. Now, they cut prices to at least keep up with Lowes.

I remember walk'in round the court square sidewalk
Lookin' in windows at things I couldn't want
There's Johnson's hardware and Morgans jewelry
And the ol' Lee King's apothecary
They were the little man
The little man

I go back now and the stores are all empty
Except for an old Coke sign from 1950
Boarded up like they never existed
Or renovated and called historic districts
There goes the little man
There goes the little man

Now the court square's just a set of streets
That the people go round but they seldom think
Bout the little man that built this town
Before the big money shut em down
And killed the little man
Oh the little man

He pumped your gas and he cleaned your glass
And one cold rainy night he fixed your flat
Then new stores came where you do it yourself
You buy a lotto ticket and food off the shelf
Forget about the little man
Forget about that little man

He hung on there for a few more years
But he couldn't sell Slurpees
And he wouldn't sell beer
Now the bank rents the station
To a man down the road
And they sell velvet Elvis and
Second-hand clothes
There goes little man
There goes another little man

Chorus

Now the stores are lined up in a concrete strip
You can buy the world with just one trip
And save a penny cause it's jumbo size
They don't even realize
They're killin' the little man
Oh the little man

Chorus

It wasn't long when I was a child
An old black man came with his mule and his plow
He broke the ground where we grew our garden
Back before we'd all forgot about the little man
The little man
Long live the little man
God bless the little man

Where are the Chinese going to get the money to buy US Treasuries, finance our national debt and war effort, and subsidize the US consumer economy if we don't shop at Wal Mart?
