Okay gang, I know a few of you have mentioned this, and I think we've discovered the problem. But better than that, we also have a solution.

Aaron thinks that it is caused by a specific build of the Flash player which is being used by the media-rich ESPN ads we're currently running. It's not the forum software itself.

It seems to only occur in Internet Explorer 6 (and possibly 7).

Upgrading the Flash player seems to cure this, and you can get an upgraded version here: http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash&promoid=BUIGP

Guy B.
I upgraded my flash player and that seems to help the pages load faster but I still get locked up/kicked out when I click on some topics. Sometimes I have to force close Internet Explorer to get unstuck. This is the only site this happens on.
Any suggestions?

I thought my problem was the same, but the download didn't fix it. "Internet Explorer could not open the web site, operation aborted" comes up, and then it's page cannot be displayed. It only happens on this site, when I click on certain pages of certain threads.

it only happens on our thin client machines at work. They run windows CE with IE.
