Anybody into building hot rods and the like when they are not dicking around with bikes? I am picking up an 84 Ford F250 dually with a 460ci big block this weekend. Gonna bag it and do a twin turbo blow thru setup on it. Should be a fun little gas guzzler lol. Just started doing vehicle wraps and want to wrap it in matte black with some other graphics thrown in ect to kinda showcase my work . Heres my wifes BMW with a quarter wrap. Anyways, anyone else got something they are building?

71 Challenger, 22 years and counting. Factory 383 stick car, have a 500 hp 440 for it, need to buy a Tremec 5 speed, clutch and a good rad for it, and reassemble it. Moto got in the way, I tore my ACL when I had it apart, and it's been on the backburner ever since.

I tore my knee up pretty bad 7 months ago and at 41 the risk/reward just isn't there anymore. I sold all my bikes and this truck is gonna fill the void so to speak.

My 1983 Dodge 1ton. It's got a 440 fit with a built 727 trans. 38.5 radial mudders. Custom interior and paint. Needs some work to get back on the road. I parked it when has hit 3.50. Now that it's cheaper I need to work on it to haul the boat to thesis this summer.

I bought a project a couple years back to work on with my youngest son. We adopted him when he was one year old knowing that he was born addicted to heroin and meth and he has some issues from that that he's working hard to overcome, but the kid loves to do anything mechanical.

We found a 77 Chevy C10 Step Side that needed a fair amount of work and are turning it into a street rod type of rig. So far we've swapped the bench seat for buckets and modified a "conversion van" type of console to fit it. This year were planning on lowering it tastefully and perhaps dropping a big block in it. We're going to save the exterior for last. He turns 16 in 2017 so the goal is for him to drive it in our "Classy Chassis" parade in May of 2017.

I'm thinking a color combo similar to the Chevy in the original post of the classic car thread. I'm hoping to use the Corvette "Daytona Sunset Orange" with SS stripes of a diamond pearl that Cadillac used to use on the ETCs. I might reverse those, though, depending on what I can see between now and time to spray it.

Nice, that's killer that your boy is into this type of stuff. Most kids these days only like things that have power cords and monitors lol.

That's awesome, dude. I would like to thank you and your wife as a fellow member of society- sounds like the kid got lucky.

Nah, our whole family got lucky. I'm just eternally thankful that our two youngest children never got separated and we were able to welcome them both into our family at the same time. Our youngest daughter was 3 when they came to us and she was already the caregiver of her year old brother while her drug addict parents were barely around. The kids were only supposed to stay with us for a few days to a few weeks, but after a couple days I knew they just belonged with us.

My kids like video games just like most kids do, but they have lots of other interests also. I just try to teach them that moderation is the key.

Not really a rat rod or a hot rod, but a little canyon carver. I'm hoping to get close to 200 hp with this little guy by the end of the year. I got some cams to go with a new intake/header, put some bigger brakes on it, Ford racing suspension, some chassis stiffeners, bigger wheels and sticky tires, and also trying to keep the budget really low. It's pretty slow in a straight line but really shines in the mountains! I did the wrap on it myself but I'm pretty disappointed with it as it has aged badly on the roof and will need to be re-done soon.

Not a hot rod but right up that alley. 1946 willys cj2a body on a 1969cj5 frame. FI vortec 4.3, sm465 and dana 20tcase. Toyota truck axles on 36"tsl's but buying 39.5" iroks soon. In the process of rebuilding a different tub for it and hoping to have it ready for summer but there is still a lot to do. Fun stuff. Once I buy a house(renting sucks) I'll be looking for a 67-72 chevy c10. The plans with that will be porterbuilt drop members or something from the roadster shop. I like a aggressive drop but I like good handling too(protouring). Can't wait for that project. A lot of my moto friends are into recreational vehicals whether it's off road or some sort of hotrod or custom.

I've been drooling over this one on eBay. All the patina(rust) is airbrushed on. It's all paint. Sick as hell.

haha, someone replied: " THAT JEEP IS A FUKIN DEATH TRAP! AND I NEED IT IN MY LIFE."

My closest neighbor has a Studebaker with real rust on a 76 Camaro frame.

Of course he added a blower, just for fun. Laughing

My 1971 chevy truck it was a long bed I shortend the chassis to make it a short bed
I did all the body and paint. It has a 350/350 combo and is a blast to drive anywhere.

It has a 350 small block in it with way to much cam for the.tork converter!
Sounds like it's making 600 hp but the reality is output is closer to 215!hp.
Cheers, Pat

I'm not a car gut but all my friends are. I definitely have an appreciation for viewing things made by those who master their craft.
Whether it be restoration of old cars or cabinets done by a master craftsman. My good friend built the car in your photos. Some cheesy phone pics one day while I was visiting,

I guess driving on a dirt road creates a shit load of polishing, eh Toolmaker? Let alone, driving in the rain. That thing is spendy art.
