How many of you are following the F1 championship this year? The last couple of years have been very similar to the Supercross championships in terms of domination, but with the 4-time defending champion Vettel out of the hunt this year wide open between the Mercedes boys Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg...

So what do you think of the season so far, and who do you think deserves to take the crown this year?

I gave up following F1 this year because of the V6 engine change. I tried hard to like it but the cars sound like shit compared to the V8, V10, V12.

Watch ever race.

Sunday was weird, after warm up plus all the practice and qualifications nicos steering wheel won't communicate with the car.

1st thing i thought was sabotaged.

When they were on the grid with side cutters, wire strippers and black tape i knew they were screwed.

Still,a great race with the tire strategy and the way the safety car fell in the lap count.

I also watched the fia 6 hr from texas, another great event, one I'd like to attend. The Audi r18 is such a cool car.

The season has been pretty good so far, I thought the same thing, sabotage, when they were working on nico's car, didn't his car cut out once during a race? I always thought merc favors Lewis over nico, plus niki lauda loves lewis Hamilton

I don't believe Mercedes purposely screwed Nico either, but I completely agree that the team are favouring Lewis no matter how many times they tell us they have equal status. Besides, Lewis is earning 20mil and Nico 12mil a year.

I'm really impressed with Ricciardo's season so far, I don't think anyone expected him to be in the title hunt this year let alone outperforming Vettel consistently.

Being British I feel I should be cheering on Lewis, but then the other part of me wants to see Nico take it, because I fully expected Lewis to thrash Nico, so fair play to him for keeping it on the podium and winning multiple races this year. Thing is, will Nico be in this kind of position to take the title again in the future? Do you think it's now or never for ze German?

I'm impressed with ricciardo's driving this year also, I think that nico has been just a little quicker then Lewis this year and would like him too win the championship, I was a big Hamilton fan but find him a bit whinny, although he does have a lot of pressure on him for not living up too his potential, I think he should have won those championship's that vettel had taken, obviously the red bull was a superior car but Lewis has been in formula one along time and only has one world championship too his credit, that being said if nico doesn't take it a hope ricciardo can, he is capable

I cannot make up my mind on who I want to pull this off for Mercedes. Its been an interesting year but really is just a two pony show. I would love to see Kimi up front more frequently.

I follow every race as well....even though it isn't really my favorite series. I definitely think the Indy series is better racing , but I'm also more of a fan of the GT and V8 Supercars.

Both the GT ( Blancpain , PWC , Tudor and United ) and V8's ( especially the V8's ) do a lot of pushing and shoving and it's never dominated by 1 , 2 or even 3 guys......the whole field is open. The guy who took 15th last week , could win it the following weekend. The racing in these series is just so much closer and the cars are about 100X more durable......which means they usually finish the race. If you fart in the direction of an F1 car......carbon fiber pieces fly off it!

On the F1 series though......I don't like seeing championships get settled with mech DNF's , but to be fair , Hamilton has has his fair share of mech problems this year as well. My 3 favorite drivers are sitting 3rd , 4th and 5th right now. ( Ricciardo , Alonso and Vettel ). The F1 series has what they say a lot of " pretty drivers " haha. Dudes are definitely some of the most skilled drivers on the planet......but Christ they are a bunch of pretty , prim a-donna's .

Next year when they do the standing restarts for every safety car things will really be crazy.

Not sure it is 100% but all the drivers were complaining about it before the summer break.

I still think the dumbest decision in ALL of racing is the stupid double points race at the F1 finale in Dubai. Retarded!

They tried pulling the double points shit at the last race of the nesc spring series, the riders didn't want it and it was dropped, let's hope the formula one drivers do the same thing, did anyone read the press release from niki lauda after Singapore?

crazy how sub-par the RedBull cars have been this year. i'm not talking the drivers... the cars have been visibly one of the worst on the grid. compare that to the last 4 years where they had hands-down the best car.

Riciardo has been a breath of fresh air, really pulled for him all season.

as for the championship, i don't care for Hamilton at all and really want Nico to win it

Hard to make predictions. Merc, by far the best car this year. The V6 Turbo? It hasnt won me over. The penis on the front of the car? Again what the hell was that about. Seems a few used the rules to their advantage others just copped out and said - yea. We'll put a dick on our car.

I can tell you who does not deserve the crown.
Rossberg. That little fuck and his antics at Monaco were downright dishonorable. Multi21 dishonorable. Add what happened in Belgium - I hope he blows an engine and a goat.

Hammy has been doing a good job with a great car compared. From last to podium more than most. He actually does better from the back of the pack.

Daniel Mr. Smiles - He is who I am rooting for, I suspect when the double points kick in, RedBull will rise victorious. Horner is no dummy.

And just for Hillbilly - Maybe Pastor "Crash" Maldonado will actually finish a weekend without destroying a car. THAT will be the true championship note.

This just in:

We hear from various sources that Fernando Alonso has signed for McLaren-Honda in 2015. He's leaving Ferrari at the end of the year.

When they took the FRIC link away from the teams a few months back it really set some teams back that had been scoring.

The link connected the front and rear suspension like a anti sway bar so when brakes were applied it eliminated the front diving by lowering the rear of the car with the front.

I started following it last year; and I have to admit I've started to get wrapped up in it. IMO, this year...Hamilton and Riccardo are the fastest drivers on the track. Some people are saying Rosberg has been the fastest racer this year; have to disagree. See my last sentence before this one. Hopefully, the racing next year will be even better, think Valeri Bottas (hope I spelled it correctly) will have a breakout season next year, the Williams cars are looking good.

Did they confirm that? I know he can't come to terms with the car this year.....but he's leaving after this season? RedBull blows my mind.....I would figure that their pockets were deep enough to get this car of his figured out. ONE of the main problems is , is he's just down on power! But then again so is everyone else that aint driving a Mercedes this year. This is a bummer if true.

Everyone but Ferrari has confirmed it, twitter was melting down over all the news. Daniel Kvyat will take Sebs place next to Ricciardo. Christian Horner let is slip out that he is going red. Im gutted. Pinch
