I've purchased near 200 items on ebay using my paypal. some near $500.
Now I can't get anything, they're saying I need to update my account by giving them bank information. I called and the gentleman with the heavy arab accent (no it wasn't Peggy). Said I need to update my profile by sending my bank account info, all I've ever had before was just my debit card, billing address, and e-mail.
Anybody else have to do this yet, not really wanting to give them my bank info since it's our household account.

Paypal doesn't answer phones.

You're getting scammed.
Just go to paypal's site and click on your profile tab and then update account information, they'll direct you to put in your account information.
I'm not doing it using our household account, I'm opening a new account with a little mad money for this and transfer as needed.

I just said piss on that account and opened up another one under a different email address and got my purchase that way but I still will not give them my bank info.
Btw, they've always had those limits. The more info you give them, the bigger spending limit you get. and not sure if you know it, but I think if you wait until next month, you can buy stuff again, up until that $500 limit.

Sounds like your CC expired.
So far I've purchased 2 things by calling the person (business)and giving them my debit card directly. A couple more hurdles in the way may not be a bad thing, it'll slow down my spending on this bottomless pit of supermini racing!!
If you have an issue regarding the Patriot Act, be fair and blame both/all, and not single out one
My wife does a lot of large transactions online and uses paypal, she buys and trades in antique mexican silver jewelry (she's become quite the expert)
Wanna see some cool shit?

She scours the interweb searching for bits and pieces that people have no idea of what they have, and snaps it up.
She also buys and trades with other dealers.
But she did say this, she believes PayPal has always required a secondary form of payment in case one form has insufficient funds, essentially a back up to keep from getting screwed.
I just got $61.47 from some law suit won against Ebay for final valuation fees. I don't sell much stuff at all.
