So after dropping my insurance through work a few years ago because the constant increases (386.00 a month) for a single healthy guy. I finally got some quotes on this obamacare and looks like i will save a ton on money each month, i wont qualify for any help but i can get it for 210 a month (silver plan) 186.00 for (bronze plan) which is nearly half of what a HSA through my work charges.... Really the only need for insurance for me is if i get into a major accident as i have never been to the doctor in 4 years for anything else as i recall. As i dont want insurance at all maybe its a good thing we are being forced to buy it so if something does happen im covered....

Awesome.
If you meant 2015, why are you dealing with that now?
LOL...this is beyond pathetic.
our healthcare here is free, funded through our taxes, you CAN pay for private health care which means you can bypass the free stuff if you want , but for us , its percieved as zero cost.
Why dont they just cut the whole deal back , and raise the money through taxes , instead of the whole insurance scam route.
LOL
You big party dolts are like the guy who says McDonalds is bad for you, so he instead eats at Burger King. Smart.
I'm on board to split the country into two different sides, conservative and liberals. We'll see which side keeps afloat and which side sinks.
Pit Row
You are saying that this "plan" was a compromise? Between who, exactly? A compromise between the party that wrote and voted for it and the party that didn't write it and didn't cast a single vote for it?
You left out the "Best and Brightest" line.
The stuff I proposed are to address insurance costs, that's all. Lowering the cost of insurance would add people to the column of "People Who Have Insurance". I wouldn't force people to buy anything and I sure wouldn't force them to be dropped from the plans they already have.
WTF?
Just exactly what have you proposed to address costs? The idea is to provide coverage for those who don't have it now.
Allowing a competitive nationwide marketplace for insurance would lower costs over the 50-state mini-markets we have had up to now. How do you figure anyone's cost going UP because their insurance carrier suddenly has access to a larger pool of customers?
Just requiring insurers to accept pre-existng conditions won't do it btw. In fact, that rule has existed for some time, assuming you never let your coverage lapse.
I thought you made a big deal about the ACA forcing insurance carriers to cover pre-existing conditions? And now you tell us they already did?
Those people being dropped? The overwhelming majority will drop their own plans every year or two anyway. It's yet another of these non issues that are being blown into a big deal by a small but vocal group that sit around waiting for anything to pounce on.
Fact-free opinion, again.
You know, oldfart-I would tell you to think for yourself, but we both know you can't do that, don't we.
Populous states have insurance carriers that can't sell across state lines, too. Having 50 different insurance commissions mandating products that they deem acceptable limits competition and makes health insurance too complicated-that adds costs.
So adding more people lowers costs? Is that your theory?
Not just my theory-it was also the justification for the ACA, wasn't it?
But then you want to force them to accept people with pre-existing conditions, yes? So will those people with pre-existing conditions pay more under your plan? How about lifetime caps? Does your plan address those too? Preventative care? How about women, do they pay more under the Vet323 plan?
You think your plan addresses all of those things, right? But it still supposedly saves us money and lowers the debt?
It's more than opinion that people drop their self purchased plans every year or two, it's a fact.
People "dropping their self purchased plans" isn't the problem, it's people "having their self-purchased plans taken from them" that is the issue.
A.will rates drop in the next three years?
B.Stay the same?
C.Increase?
Same question for five years.
Same question for ten years.
Is this planned or just a guess on your part.
If it is part of the plan please point us to a link.
Thank you.
