If the desired result was to force working class America to pay for non-working class America's Health care, while the government and the health care companies made money of them, then hell yeah, you nailed it!
That is so spot on!
Employer paid?
Do you get a Subsidy?
Is your premium going down? Or coverages being reduced? or Subsidy going up? Or employer paying more?
Do you have children falling off your plan?
You are the only person I've heard of that says their rate is going down...I know of people who are taking less coverage to pay less...or their employers are paying more (so they pay less...but their premiums actually went up), or their subsidy went up (so they pay less...but their premiums actually went up)...in my limited experience...if your premium REALLY did actually go down (same coverage, same employer portion/same subsidy...but less cost) you are the only person in America that can say that.

Tell me something I don't know.
I had no choice.
It's what pisses me off the most.
TheGovernment is Forcing me to buy it.
Those fuckers don't pay.
But they areForcing me to pay.
" Together, we can make this a better country",
Yeah, right. When everyone pays 3 % of their take home pay, everyone, from the president on down,
it might at least be fair.
But it still isn't right.
This is supposed to be a free country, to be able to choose how we live our lives.
I hope the whole effing thing implodes on itself, and insurance companies are barred from having anything to do with the medical profession.
The Government cares about free medical, let them pay for it, expand the VA, BC//Bs, whatever.
i recently got diagnosed with type 2 Diabetes, i live in a country that has (almost) free healthcare,
it cost me $30 for the original doctors appointment, after the 4th appointment in a year its free,
i had to get 4 scripts for different stuff, they were $5 each,
I had only just registered at this doctors surgery, as i had moved a couple of years ago and not got around to it, otherwise the 1st visit for the year would have been free, there is also an issue with new drugs being slow to get into the public system, as we have a central pharmacy buyer,
we have a private system that operates as well, you can buy insurance to cover that, you get rid of wait times for surgerys, (which can take a while, if not urgent in the public health system) i think its the best solution personally, to have a base single payer system, with a better system if you want to pay for it above, the compulsary accident system we have works ok to, esp for high risk sports,
I changed employers and my new employer pays the entire premium, although it doesn't include vision like my previous policy did. I also have a lower deductible and out of pocket limits than before, which is awesome because my wife is a Type 1 diabetic.....
We pay and we pay a lot for example i had my thumbnail removed due to a chemical burn i sustained at my job, the insurance company decided that my gloves who where 3 years old at that time where not good enough for the job anymore, there is no expiring date on this kind of gloves but hey they decided to not pay anything.
All good if you know it upfront but that is never happening, you go in the medical centre and you stay there and you get it done fast from moment of accident to nail removed takes about 36 hours tops.
when you then leave the hospital you will get your bill send home to you within 30 days, once it arrives you can go to your insurance to have them pay it, but then all the shit starts all questions and investigations start. long story short i had to pay 2400€ to the hospital the insurance payed nothing. And i pay around 250€ per month for my entire family.
We pay a shit load of money to the state thats coming straight from our pay check (my own example i make 1500€ Net per month my boss needs to pay 4800€ per month) thats 3300 euro thats straight going too the state that money is used for our so called unemployment benefits.
I say screw them if you wanna have money work for it assholes.
I do believe there should be some way of a reduced minimum wage unemployment salary but i say it would have to be a max of 2 months and only for people who lost there job not for the morons that quitted there job, and after those 2 months your done.
When you get in a accident or get injured or just sick you should be able to get the same amount of money you would have when you where able to work. ( again this will have to be checked by a legal doctor that works for the state so there is no abuse from the system)
the reason why i say this is because i know people that have been getting unemployment pay checks for a very long time some of them already 5 years. I have never been in search for a job longer than a week if you cant fix it in 2 months you just don't want to work.
Unemployment salary is about 1300€ so just 200 less than i make working my ass off.
So if you call this a experience i say they can shove it up there ass.
Work hard get the money you deserve and screw all the lame sorry ass dumb fucks that r to lazy to do anything.
UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE IS BULLSHIT
Would it, or could it be the fastest, and best? He'll no.
Keep the private sector, for sure, but to those that might be unfortunate or unable to pay, it is a huge black eye on this country not to be able to accommodate them.
Now maybe they couldn't pay for a sex change operation or the hormones they needed to grow tits. But that's not my problem or responsibility to pay for it.
Anyone at any time can go to the ER and get treated. Hospitals cannot turn you away. It's been a law for as long as I've been alive.
In 2015 I was on a plan that went belly up with 3 months left in the year. We were told that you would be covered for the rest of the year. Except they never mentioned that it would be for existing problems already being covered. 6 weeks later I ended up in the ER with my right knee locked up due to a torn meniscus. They insurance refused to pay and I ended up eating a $7000 ER bill.
Switch to 2016 go see my new primary care doctor to get a referral for the knee. 3 weeks later the referral is approved go to the Ortho he needs an autho for an MRI. 6 weeks later I am getting the MRI and he determines that I will need to go in for clean up of the meniscus tear. 6 weeks later the insurance denies the surgery instead wants the Ortho to pump the knee up with steroids.
Moved to Colorado and ended up breaking my back moving into my apt. call up the insurance to see if they had a preferred ER or Urgent care clinic in the area. They said NO come back here 800 miles away for covered care or go to an ER in Colorado and expect to pay what we wont pay!!!! The ER bill came to nearly $20,000 and the insurance only paid $600. They refused to pay for the CT and X-rays meds Etc. Still waiting to see what I end up owing on this one.
A week later I am set up with a Colorado carrier. This insurance will not let me see an Ortho for the broken bones or a Neurosurgeon for the nerve pain. Instead I am stuck with a Primary care doctor for pain management Over the last 5 months I have been on 3 different pain meds. 3 different nerve meds, the last one had my body feeling like it was getting electrocuted for nearly 10 hours on the first dose. Next they had me on 2 different NSAIDS and want me to switch to another one after I just picked up a 3 month supply of the 2nd one!!! i honestly do not want to step foot into any of there clinics ever again!!!!!!
I just got a letter from Colorado's marketplace stating that the Premium will be going up $130/Month for my current insurance plan. The silver lining is I just became qualified for my company insurance plan and am going to talk with HR in a bit to see what I will be looking at.
what a joke that article is.
...sad thing is this..until you get the govt to start enforcing laws against unfair competition, picking the winners and losers, this is what we will get...an over expensive system, filled with scams and promises..
I can hardly blame doctors when they say f' it anymore...
the real question is this..
Why isn't the entire medical industry under indictment under 15 USC Sec 1?
15 USC Sec 1 provides for felony criminal penalties for *anyone* with market power attempting to monopolize, price-fix or restrain trade. It is 100+ yr law with no exemption for health firms.
hmmmmm....probably the same reason you can get a subpoena asking for documents...then destroy those said documents and get away with it.....There is zero rule of law here in these united states...getting worse. The american people are complacent, powerless, counting on the govt, practically from cradle to grave and are therefore only demanding freebies, not integrity from govt officials. ..
haha the revolution will not be televised
If you had leukemia, healthcare by ER wasn't exactly a wise course of action.......
I've probably paid out about $300 in prescriptions over that time frame and maybe about $1000-$1500 in dental.
Went for a cardio test a couple of months ago and there was no charge. I'll be getting an ultrasound in a week or so. No charge again. Then I have to have a small surgery to repair an abdominal hernia. Guess what? Yup, no charge for that either.
Yup, our system sucks. Did I mention I pay less in taxes than you guys too.
Oh yeah, one last thing. I can go to any GP or any hospital I want to. If I don't like the specialist I'm referred to, I can always change that too. Isn't FREEDOM great? Do you guys have that freedom? Can you quit your job and still have full coverage, or are you kind of locked into your job if you want to have good healthcare? That would suck sweaty balls.

Prescription prices all over the place
No dental no vision coverage
I am not against providing emergency care to anyone when necessary, however paying for a heart transplant for an illegal junkie is where I draw the line. Sorry we cannot afford to save the world nor should we be expected to do so. Treat-em and street-em, only in their case, if you cannot pay your bill and get emergency medicaid you should be fast tracked right out of the country
It may sound cruel but don't force me to pay for what you consider a worthy charity when I know you are overcharging and making a fortune.
Obamacare was just a giant gift to the insurance industry they don't care what anything costs because they just base their rates on overall cost and transfer that cost to you
If it costs more great, our percentage is now more....the more we spend on healthcare the more money they make, and of course if we ever wake up and spend say half of what we currently spend, they, insurance, doctors, medical practices, will still be doing just fine. Of course when your GDP is is infused with 3 trillion dollars of healthcare spending...You really have a problem.
Just so you understand that number that would be the amount of income of the all taxpayers in the united states, roughly 100 million taxpayers with approximately 30,000 median income.
Healthcare cartel.
But hey no one seems to be even the least bit concerned...what to do, probably charge more or If in charge just take it over...aka, govt healthcare.
Meanwhile we are all getting reduced benefits , paying more and being told our healthcare is the best etc etc,
You get charged $500.00 for an epipen that costs less than $35 in europe and you think you are getting a deal because you have a $35 co payment.
The system is broken, But hey it pays my bills.
Break your neck on your dirt bike and most likely insurance will deny and hello bankruptcy.
Welfare people get the best coverage. Not even a bill and its paid by the taxpayers. However, the taxpayers get nothing.
Thats why Canadas system kills ours. Ours is a business.
There is no health care in health insurance.
A diabetic can get their drugs from on online store cheaper than their insurance coverage for example
My Insurance company cancelled me effective today.
Well about 3000 statewide.
As of now we are told hospitals have to take us for a life threatening injury...and send us down the road once stabilized.
If not life threatening, they CAN turn you away.
So tomorrow I get to start looking as right now, No coverage. If I was a welfare case, no problemo stupid taxpayer gringos!
As for the employer contribution i am not sure but it is huge. Just compairing plans on the Colorado market place a comparable plan from the same insurance company is right around $950/month. Also helps that my employer has 300,000+ employees.
