Don't piss off the boss.....
J. Sloan here. Yep, it's pretty easy to fly in under the radars here without getting caught. In fact, there are several other accounts here, none of which you will ever figure out. I can use several different anonymous proxies, computers, operating systems, etc. In fact, there are literally thousands of anonymous proxies available to anyone who chooses to use them. But that's beside the point, you can delete whatever accounts you see fit, I don't really care since it's not really worth it to post here all that much anymore.
It became clear to me long ago that this place was full of moto-assholes. The motocross community is just small enough to have a bunch of ankle-biters that hang out on message boards and think they know it all becasue they has some tiny, small part in motocross. But be that as it may...I decided a while ago to be a smart ass to the know-it-all assholes because quite frankly, they deserve it. I mean really, I didn't actually cry, and my leaving posts were made up, and I don't take anxiety pills with beer. The drooping, dripping sarcasm seemed obvious. But I digress, people will think what they want to think so that is beyond my control.
I was going to hang under the radar until I read this latest post of yours. I can deal with the moto-assholes, they area dime a dozen here. But the hypocrisy of your latest post here is just amazing (amazing in no good way). You say that you are "...tired of unsubstantiated BS posts." I think you should rephrase that to say, "I am tired of CERTAIN posters that annoy me." If you were really tired of "unsubstantiated BS" you'd be clicking a lot of posters. Let me give you one example (many more can be given):
In this post, a poster by the name, txmxer said to J. Sloan (bold and italics mine):
Since he decided we are all idiots and left then returned (a few times), he responds with the dumbest arguments against virtually anything. This is his relief valve. I suppose it prevents him from taking a gun into a kindergarten and killing innocents.
Since you are all about justice and fairness, I'd like to know what you are going to do about txmxer's comments? I would say, that unlike an opinion that so and so is an idiot or dickhead or fuckface or whatever other terms of endearment are used on message boards, that txmxer's comments boarder on libel since he implies something egregious about my character in a public forum. I also don't know if you are aware, but the owner's and moderators are legally responsible for the words and actions of the user's that operate on their boards.
The problem here is that you are neither just nor fair, you click J. Sloan for an obvious sarcastic -- yet purposeful antagonistic -- post. You click Masonry for making a smartass comment, but you do nothing about posters who make comments about guns and kindergarten and killing innocents. Why? If you didn't know about it before, you know about it now.
I really don't like playing janitor. But unfortunately someone has to do it. If you've ever taken a shot at moderating a board, you know it's not easy. In a perfect world? People would be more interested in talking about the sport than they would trying to amuse themselves by antagonizing others, and it would sort of self-moderate.
As far as txmxer's comments? Though I'm sure it'll pain you greatly, I won't be doing a thing. It was posted in the Dumbgeon, which is generally unmoderated. Yes, it needs a good cleaning at the moment, and I have a technical reason why it hasn't yet been flushed yet that doesn't really concern you. I'm going to further guess that he posted it in there after it hit the Dumbgeon.
Scanning through some of your other posts, I did find this, er... gem. "Just because you guys are a part of the new "tough, yet homosexual" crowd doesn't mean that you have to overcompensate and try to do the "man" thing and pick on people. It's OK to be gay, 500guy, kardy, flarider, grendel, outsider (nice play on the gay thing with that name), ocscottie, teameuro, huck, bauer, bobbym, et al. Just embrace it, don't over do it, though. However, I for one, am tired of the constant ridicule on this board, and it needs to stop. People have feelings and just because you guys are homosexuals, it doesn't give you the right to push others around!!!"
I'm no rocket scientist, but it seems to me that you may be implying something about their character as well?
While the board will have that much less "intelligence, pizazz, and glory", I'm pretty sure no one will be missing you. I know I won't. Besides, if it were that horrible, you'd be doing a lot better job of avoiding the place.
But I'm pretty sure we'll See More of you in the future anyway.
Generally I think most people here want to bench race and hang out with people who have a common interest. Occasionally you find one who just doesn't play well with others. I've run into maybe a handful of those in the over ten years or so that I've been doing Vital and Motodrive.
Pit Row
Sloan.....I've never had anything against you personally , but you sometimes are borderline on being a nut case. Reading some of your posts sometimes make me wonder if you should be posting on "ANY" message board.
And don't act like an innocent person here either.......you have a way of pushing peoples buttons. And the one person you shouldn't have pushed was GuyB's. Like it or not....he runs this site , and what he says....goes.
I also don't see him click the average poster here either.....as it is usually something that adds up over time. You keep poking the bear....sooner or later he's gonna rip your friggin' head off!
Redrider400, besides the comment on James, you also had relatively few posts at the time. Sometimes posters with fewer posts have the appearance of being trolls, and that's why they'll get clicked faster than more experienced users.
To actually respond to why the post was started to begin with (imagine that!), I really don't have any doubt Josh has been trying to turn things around for a while. Before his string of injuries the guy was more fit than I had ever seen him, and his attitude was serious. Anyone who puts out that many podiums to start a season has worked super hard and done their homework. Here's hoping that Josh either keeps or finds a new ride, because he's an asset to this sport especially in SX.
As far as J-Law... well... I hope he's making business contacts outside of Bible studies. I can't imagine he'll re-fire his career enough to get a ride.
There's a hole in the world tonight.
