Are you saying it is hard for you to twist the throttle wide open the way you grip the throttle?

Don't hold the throttle like you are whacking off. Hold it like you are shaking hands with a business associate.

Ive always had issues with re-gripping myself. I use shorter pull throttles.

Start with your elbows up in the attack position, and re grip when you need to.

Left hand throttle, worked for Fonzie, got him off of that purse snatching deal.

I usually grab with a good amount of over grip on my right hand. That way I'm at about 75% throttle when i'm at my comfort zone and when I need to go wide open, I don't have to drop the elbow much.

Go with a 1/4 turn or Motion Pro Revolver throttle. Start from the gate with your elbows extremely high and your palm facing toward you rather than forward or toward the ground. Finally, learn the "doorknob grip". Before I understood it, I was skeptical, but the concept now makes a ton of sense, at least to me.

You're high... (am I right? lol) regripping is a technique I learned waaaay too late.

Could've have save thousands on aftermarket pipes, etc. Blush

You need to twist starting at your upper body and shoulder, not just the elbow. Here's a vid demonstrating proper technique, it's executed perfectly at 0:21.

I use the "chicken wing" method. My right wrist is completely fused. To operate the throttle I have to use full elbow and shoulder. Turning right and rough tracks or whoops are the worst! Almost fell off the back of the bike today at Glen Helen going up Mt. St. Helen.Unsure But docs. told me I'd never race again due to the wrist and forearm.......yeah,right. Grip it and twist it.Tongue

Loosen up the throttle housing and rotate the throttle assembly as far forward as it will go, unitl it hits on the brake master cylinder.

Gary Bailey taught us to re-grip the throttle after braking, 30 years ago.
