You mean this one -

For some reason this was our favorite section of the track... In the background, Ryan Villopoto shows off a section of the course where he had an advantage, tripling into a corner that most riders were doing as a double and single. Credit: GuyB

Others were doing it in practice. Not sure if they did it during the race.

Didja see him come up short on it? Planted the front end right in the face of it. I think he was copying my style.

Grant and Short did it almost every lap. Jake Moss tried it in Moto 1, landed on a haybale right in front of us and crashed into the fence in the corner.

Grant and Short were doing it almost every lap in moto 1. Short did it a couple times in moto 2. Never saw Grant do it in moto 2. L8R Mark

Short and Grant did it fairly regular in R1. Don't think Mikey was doing it then. Can't say for sure if Reed did, I think so. Impressive to see when you're staring at the drain bolts. But its all a blur now, and kinda was then too. Not sure if the time saving was as dramatic as it appeared on TV the occasion where RV did and MA didn't. Maybe looked like a bigger deal time wise on the big screen. Anyone?

The little downhill double before the new saddleback section (where RV made the pass on MA). That little double gave a lot of riders fits. Cooper bit it big time there in R2, and gave up trying afterward. Reed almost threw it away when he deviated from his tried and true inside line, which was by far the best, and the one RV was using. MA just plain wouldn't do it by the halfway point, and he lost a lot of time there. He was using the wrong line, the same one that did Cody in. It was a real men from boys section by R2.

And someone mentioned this earlier, and they were absolutely right. MA very nearly RedBudded himself on the downhill triple section on the first lap. It was hard to tell whether he was trying to clear it or just way overcooked the double. He was hauling though.

Yep, he and Short consistently jumped that high/far every lap.
very "hairy" I must say.

Alessi was one of the first guy's doing it.

I never understood why he stopped doing it when the race started.

What was more impressive was the way RV would hang it out to stay ahead or get ahead...kinda RC-style. When Reed was catching him, RV pinned it on that last jump before the 75mph straight, and bounced about another 40 feet...and he just kept it against the throttle stop. Cool stuff on a rough track like that. The kid has nards.

Grant busted it out on the first lap of his first practice, and he was the first guy on the track. Reminded me of Guy Cooper at Kenworthy's back in the day (except Guy was on a 125 and it was muddy, but I digress.)

Alessi not jumping that Jump was huge. I bet it was worth a second and a half a lap.

RV wasn't doing it for a while in the 1st moto and was still catching those guys hand over fist.

The 1st time in moto one RV did it he was coming up short 'cos he was ringing that 450 to get a few extra inches on the way down.

Reedy nearly took a digger doubling up that thing in the 1st moto !

Anstie did it a few times in the 1st 250 F moto.

Pretty nice vid. Josh Grant has some big balls. that guy is always going big. at 1st that jump didn't look to big then he did the whole thing. does anyone know how many feet? looked about 110+ on the vid.

also can someone post the clip of the transworld shot of grant going flat over the hill back down the other side!! that clip is crazy.

Are you being sarcastic? You must be because if you watch the tv show, it's clearly not much (if at all) faster than going 2-1. They didn't make up as much time as you'd think.

Those are Grant at GH on 07. I was at that one and have always thought the 2nd pic was absolutely bad ass.

That video is proof that a 250 F is annoying compared to a 2 stroke.
I see why non riding people hate dirt bikes more and more now.
