whats with the industry and black socks?

if I get a job being a mechanic for team motorsport outlet do they give
me my tools and a couple pair of black socks?Shocked

or if I hang out with the twmx gang do I also where black socks?

and some times I notice that 40 to 50 year olds walking the pits wearing black socks. does wearing black socks take 10 -20 years off your ageUnsure as well as make you look like a fast rider off the bike.

I'll 'fess up and admit that I wear them.

But...if I were wearing white while schlepping around some of the tracks, they'd be like tear-offs. They'd be so trashed after a day that they wouldn't even be worth throwing into the washer.

lol, when I was visiting my friend Jim Barberie in SoCal last January, everyone was wearing them at the practice tracks, at the shops (PC, Troy Lee etc) and a the Phoenix SX. Good thing I packed 2 pairs along with my 10 pairs of white one. Hey, when in Rome...... Tongue

I go grey, matches the hair ya know.. I remember many years ago when i started seeing NBA/NFL players with black shoes and thought it was ugly as crap! Now you start to see white shoes and THEY look wierd!

How about White MX boots? I also have Grey Tech 10's but still see some new white boots being worn...Is white for posers now?

And what about Gotee's? Is it true that they are the new mullet as announced on SLN?

Im colorblind. So I usually wear 1 black and 1 hot pink sock, along with bermuda shorts and a hawaiian shirt. I run the mullet and goatee (never know which one will be in style), with a beret and flip-flops.

Never thought I'd see the day when black socks and madras shorts would be the rage. Guess I'll head over to the local golf course and check out the old dudes for inspiration.
I think I'll go with white tube socks up to the knees (green stripe) and brown tennis shoes. sweeeeeeeeet....
