No.

If Reed can't make up a second on Stewart he simply can't beat him.

I say it's impossible to know, but unlikely.

There is no way we'll ever know.

James has crashed with just a few laps to go before.

It can be argued both ways.

it will only lead to speculation and more fans on both sides arguing over a (*)

HELL NO.

KC's front tire grazed CR's rear wheel. I saw NO momentum loss from CR. Its just an excuse for CR not catching up to JS. CR's block pass on JS was 10x worse than KC move.

Stewart gets the benefit of the doubt on this question which makes the Chisholm move hurt more than it helped. It will change the way people look at the next racing "incident" as well as the championship if Stewart wins. People who wouldn't have tolerated a take-out move on Bubba may think he deserves it now.

Question #3 should be, "Do you think Bubba will get booed in Vegas?".

I don't believe so. It did cost Reed some time and a loss of focus and momentum.

Not anymore than he is already booed.

Who knows?

Had Reed already passed Stewart a couple of times earlier in the race? Yes

Was Reed right on Bubba's rear wheel two turns before? Yes

Has Stewart crashed with Reed applying pressure late in a race before? Yes

Nobody here knows what might have happened. It seems clear that KC cost Reed from staying in contact with JS and maybe applying pressure in the last laps. No guarantee that that would have translated into a pass or a win.

But we will never know.

No, but you can bet Chads crybaby ass will say so. He didn't really even lose any momentum. It was ok for him to try and completely take James out though. I would have actually laughed if Kyle would have parked his arse!

yep...I think the proof that Reed was in the hunt is right there in the incident. KC almost cleans out James and hits Reeds foot and swingarm.

It would have been a battle to the finish.

But, did the incident actually cost him that much time or did the loss of focus? I say the loss of focus cost Reed more time than the actual bump.

i would agree it did change the momentum though, reed lost focus after that. luckty stewart was in the way or they both would have been over the berm

I think most would agree that a hard pass for the lead in a tight SX series points chase is a little different than putting a lap on a guy that is 50 + seconds off the pace. Stay the F out of the way. Yeah that would have been real cool if KC would have "parked" his ass.

the only real answer is "we don't know". we do know it didn't give him a leg up.

reverse the scenario...say mike was winning, punked james bad enough to cause him to get 2nd....or worse and reed won it with mike 2nd.

unknowns are what make life interesting....
