Wp conevalve trouble

Got these WP Conevalves here and I notice there is a click while compressing forks. This cannot be felt while riding however. Removed front wheel and can still feel the click when I pull / push on the lower fork leg. Any suggestions? Is it normal? See video for noise. Can feel a bit of movement when it clicks. Who did the service? I don’t think mine make that sound.

How long since service? Could be some parts with wear?

This is why when you buy used forks you send them and have them serviced and set up for you.

Grab both upper fork tubes (at or slightly above the red ring where the seals are) and rock them back and forth.

If there is play, or you can hear the same sound, your steering stem bearings need to be checked out.
If there's no play or noise at the upper tube, you need to replace the bushings in your forks.

It's really hard to tell by the video what's going on.....is it both forks....one fork?
Pull the fork off so it's easier to isolate it, stabilize the upper tube and the check for play.
You can lay it on a flat surface or lightly clamp it in a vise.
Forks shouldn't knock or have excessive play.
If the knock is still there then the fork needs to come apart, if not.....it's in the steering bearings.

I think even with new bushings you get a little bit of that right? Every fork I’ve had has done that I’m pretty sure. I’ve always grabbed the front tire and you can feel a tiny bit of play jiggle front to back
