In Cooper Webb’s interview before the SX, he said he was overshadowed so bad by AC in minis, that he couldnt get rides....what ride did he not get? Wasnt he Factory Honda?

he even swapped to a ktm supermini for monster cup.

Yep. That's what pissed off JGR when Yamaha took him.

Kawasaki has a very rich , even prestigious history as far as amateur motocross goes... For a long time (and still today) I don't think any amateur Factory team was held in higher regard. To get a Team Green ride was/is like the ultimate validation to a mini rider that they are indeed in line to be "the next big thing". Coop is just saying that he always knew he was a rider deserving of a factory amateur program ride, but never felt the love..

Thought it would be interesting to show Coop vs AC's Loretta Lynns career results. Both raced amateurs from 2002-2013

Coop in 2011 on his Red Bull / JGR backed Honda (I believe he was getting some Honda support, but Factory Connection Honda was still the top red bike amateur team)

I'm in no position to say what kind of support Webb had as an amateur, but like you guys said he was a Red Bull JAMS rider with support from JGR, rode for a KTM team for a short stint before joining an Amateur into Pro ranks deal with Star Yamaha. They have to build the narrative that he was a struggling amateur rider before turning pro, but he probably had the best support out of every amateur behind AC at the time. It isn't like it is now where every supermini rider in the top 10 has a factory bike, trainer, and mechanic flying them to the races.

Cause Cooper didn't go straight to their 450 only team from amateur?

No, from Star to the 450 for Yamaha (who didn't have a Factory effort at the time) and not JGR, who was the Yamaha supported team at the time.

To be fair, if he had gone to JGR he'd probably be on the couch right now. Yamaha was smart to let JGR switch.
