All of those riding for Pro Circuit will win or podium.

That part of it is actually getting a little boring.

IF, and that's a gigantic IF, the riders can make it through SX without getting hurt too badly then the 250 class should be excellent this year.

Dungey has the confidence and experience. Pourcel has stunning talent. Searle and Tyla have nothing to loose in their 1st year here. Canard, Izzy, Stroupe, JLaw are all fast but have not shown enough consistency in MX. Throw in Weimer, Brayton (or is he 450 for MX?), and others that I'm forgetting. It should be good.

I'm wondering if Searle and Tyla not racing XX will give them an advantage over those that are? Less likely to be hurt, more testing time, less "burnout", etc.

Tyla - is not a Euro (I think he will do fine).

CP- Needs to make it through SX first,if he stays healthy he has a good shot at the title.

Searle - I think will come around by mid season and put in some great rides ,but I do not think he will a title threat as much as Dungey , Stroupe, Pourcel & Tyla will be.

Tyla, Tommy and Chris pourcel wouldn't be superior, but i expect at least a few wins or Podium and at the end of the year : top 5 or maybe a Top 3 for one of the Three Euro's

Tyla actually is a South-African...

Of the guys mentioned I think Pourcel has the most talent, but being consistent is what matters. Rattray and Dungey seems to have matured. Searle has talent as well, but he's not as consistent.

So I'm betting my cash on Tyla, but I would get the biggest satisfaction if Pourcel won! But what do I know?

Most respect goes to Pourcel

That guy just broke his back in August 07 , and one year and a half later : he's back, and how ?!

tyla will be the biggest threat , of the former gp riders , to dungey's title aspirations , a coin toss between those two i think . should be a great year outdoors in the mx2 class .

1. rattray/dungey
2. pourcel
3. stroupe
4. searle
5. canard

Pourcel was way faster than Rattray in 2006 and 2007, don't forget that...
i wouldnt say he was WAY faster , but faster yes . he is also coming off a horrendous injury . 13 minute sillycross mains are not the same as two outdoor motos .

Agree with Mx addict, if CriCri stays healthy in SX he will smoke the 250F's outdoors.

Tyla second.

Who is the rider that caught and passed Ryan Villopoto in Las Vegas last year?

Who is the rider that broke Villopoto's winning streak in the outdoors at his home track of Washougal, then followed that up with wins at Millville and Steel City, and showed he is the rider to beat outdoors in the 250s?

Who was the only rider who showed he was close to running with the Villopoto/Townely duo during his ROOKIE year of 2007?

Who is winning the AMA Supercross Lites West Coast class right now?

Here's are a few hints:

1. Rides a factory Suzuki
2. Has help from James Stewart, Ricky Carmichael, Mike Alessi, Chad Reed, and Roger DeCoster
3. Is in his 3rd year as a pro and is showing much improved maturity and consistency

ANSWER: Ryan Dungey

I am being serious and not an ass so don't take it that way

Different circumstances.

Marc had a 1 race shot on a bike he wasn't familiar with. He certainly had the speed, but his conditioning wasn't quite up to par. Conditioning can be fixed, speed isn't so easy.

Tyla, Pourcel, and Rattray are all top riders, it's not like they're mid-pack guys. Note that there have been a few top GP riders that have done OK here. Reed, Langston, Townley, DV12, Tortelli, Pichon, Albee, etc. The list goes on.

If nothing else, with 3 top GP riders here for 09, the odds alone of at least one of them doing well are pretty good.

Dude, not trying to burst your bubble but, Dungey has 0 championships. Until he wins one, I wont pick him for any championships. So far he is the King of choke. He was the fastest rider three years ago in sx when townley won. I'm picking rattay or pourcel, hopefully dungey proves me wrong. The kid is a great rider and a good image for the sport. Oh yea just my opinion and quietly I will be rooting for him.

Was it RC that said a couple years back that the pourcel kid outdoors is real fast? Dungey did win some motos last year, but as I recall he only won 1 time straight up against Villo, I know in the others Villo crashed with IZZI and then one time he came around the 1st lap in like 36th??

No doubt there have been a plethora of very fast, very talented GP riders that have blessed our shores over the years. Win or loose they add something to the series that you don't get by just having Americans in it, just as the GP series will benifit from having Zach there in 09.

I've heard there's some guy that now works for Suzuki that wasn't half bad either. Now what was his name...
