Round #4 High Point

Where do I begin.......... Well for the first time in 2 weeks we didnt have all the drama with the bike and the results finally showed again!! The weekend didnt start off very good but the ending was great!! My Wife and I start out of San Diego Friday early in the AM and by the time we finally got to our Hotel room it was 2 AM and I was eating Mc D's!! Yeah not your average race prep food but hey thats all that was open at the time. When our practice was cancelled I was pretty stoked not because I didnt want to ride but only because the track was a mess and I didnt want my mechanic washing a bike for 2 hours!! We lucked out for sure. Sunday morning practice was great......A little muddy but you just knew that track was going to be nearly perfect for the Motos. Everyone involved with the track did an insane job getting it ready for us to race so huge props to those all involved!!

First Moto went really well I started very inside with only one gate to my left and came out really well but had to drop in with James and Timmy which was fine considering how bad my starts have been. I ended up coming around in like 10th and worked my way up from there. It was a lot like the first Moto at GH really, not too much going on but rode well enough to get a good finish. At the end of the Moto I was 6th which was great to get over that 8th hurdle I was sort of stuck on for the past few weeks.

Second Moto the start wasnt as good I was just a little late on the jump of the gate droping but at least I was still inside enough to tip toe my way around the inside and cut off some track. But during the parade lap I noticed that they had pushed some mud back onto the track over this blind high speed section, I said to my self someone is going down first lap guaranteed!! So what happens I come over the ridge and bike after bike are stacking up, as I bob and weeve through bikes and bodies I am just outside of the top ten but the guys I need to be racing with are loooong gone. I put my head down and got past as many as I could but by the time I was into 9th I had no rabbit to chase directly infront of me so it was a bit of a let down to race 30 minutes by myself, but thats a hell of a lot better than what we have had the past few weeks!! So overall I went 6-9 for 7th which wasnt bad but not where I want to be. Now I know that I have the fitness to get me through both Motos worry free of conserving energy in either Moto but I am just a hair off of where I want to be speed wise and results. I am in Canada at the moment visiting my family, friends and my dogs but when I get back to Cali Monday I need to work with a few people to be one of the top 5 guys, like I said its only a fraction that I feel I need to be up there with those guys but I do need to work on it because what Im doing at the moment just is not cutting where I want to be. Some of you may say that I am doing great for how horrible my last few years have gone but what got me this far was for not settling with where I am at and always moving forward every week whether it be results or other things and this time it is my speed I feel that needs the attention. Thanks to all who are innvolved with me through this year and years past and hopefully we can break down another barrier going into Colorado.
