Something tragic happened fairly recently: half the field's top riders crashed out of the 2010 Supercross Series by Las Vegas in the 450 class. Regardless of all the speculation as to why it happened, lets set the differences aside this year and cross our fingers it doesn't happen again!

Please, for those of you who pray, say a prayer that the supercross gladiators of 2011 have a healthy and successful season - for the riders' sake, for the fans' sake, and for the sake of the sport.

God Bless AMA Supercross!
And have a safe and happy new year everyone!

Ain't going to happen. God loves watching a good match as much as anybody. Many will not finish the season, just hope it's not career ending.

Look at wiemeriner. Pressure got to him even before the gate dropped. The gladiators are about to strap it on.

Sorry. I only invoke God for important things.

In the grand scheme of life, SX is incedental when people are dying in the streets.

Here's hoping our athletes stay safe and healthy, but if I have to send prayers, they go in a different direction.

Never been to a track walk/riders meeting on race-day, have you?

They pray for the safety of those that are in harms way...(the Troops)

For peace and prosperity...

For helping those that are lost...that they may find their way...

Then, towards the end of his prayer...and his message...

Chappy simply gives thanks for the priveleges we enjoy...as a racing community, and asks that we might find our way safely thru the days racing.

If that's "Invoking God", well, then I'm on-board with it.

So, in my Best Canadian-esque, "Sorry, eh! You're a Hoser."

Actually, dipshit, I am one of the guys who stays behind at the riders' meeting for prayer and invocation. I am not a member of any organized church.

If we are to pray en-masse for something, there are greater recipients for our spiritual thoughts than well-fed motocross riders living in $300,000 motorhomes.

Save your prayers for those in need and pray for our type when they need it.

Bullshit man, praying for the safety of the riders is not absurd! Do you think these racers who are spiritual don't pray for their safety every day they hop on a bike? Their life could change in an instant, so of course they do! Listen to Dungey, Canard, and Short give thanks to God every time they are on the podium!

If these riders pray for their own safety, then lets pray together with them! As a bonus, we will get to see more exciting racing, the riders will be safe, and God can be glorified by the three aforementioned riders thanking God on the podium.

As far as the rest of the world goes, I'm with ya on that too! How the capitalist Christians of the world can worship a homeless man on Sunday, and ignore one on Monday is beyond me.

Let it go, Hank.

Let it go.

Hell, he's a Canuck.

He's still pissed about the whole "Winter" thing.

Btw, Hank...

Happy New Year to you and yours.

So when a rider who prays gets hurt, does that mean that God ignored the prayer?

Damn...if you guys dont feel the need or believe in praying for whatever reason, that is fine. But to turn this thread into this garbage is ridiculous.

I'm not particularly among the praying type, but can we throw in a secondary one that people actually use a little common sense and think before they click the submit button on their latest gem?

I apologize to any non-believers out there. To those of you that are, please send the "good vibes" for the 2011 Supercross Season (trying to be culturally sensitive, Guy b)!

I WE NEED MORE OF THIS!

AND LESS OF THIS!

MX4Life, I'm glad to hear you and your loved ones are okay! It missed my region of the state, but I got some emails this morning requesting prayer for some family of my fellow brethern. Hope you've got to ride the smoker lately! I haven't got to ride in over a month - arrggg!!!

Hope all our Arkansas and North East Okie Vital MX'ers are okay!
