This is Ping's reply to my e-mail that was in RacerX not to long ago (the one that some here, and at the drivel, had a problem with). Someone asked me to post the reply and Ping said that it was ok so here it is.

Sorry if that response bummed you out. I know that there are still a few redneck kooks out there that make all of the white population look bad (like the guy at Southwick). I didn't mean to overlook any of those things that James has had to deal with but at the same time, I think that as Americans we are all the same these days. We are all born with the same opportunities and rights and, in theory, we are all equal. Paul, I know that things have been unfair in ther past but I think, and I hope that those days are behind us. We will probably have a black president in the next six months! So, again, I didn't mean to take anything away from James or any black racer that took extra pride in his accomplishments. I just view us all as equals.

James should be proud of his heritage and it is an accomplishment for the black community as a whole that James has done what he has done. James is a positive influence for other minorities who have struggles in their lives and often do not have positive influences in their lives.
