I am from De Soto, KS near Olathe, and haven't lived there for 11 years, but when I did everything was like you said, 45 min to an hour away. Most places where in Missouri. Only place in Kansas if I recall was Dragoon MX Park which was ran by Robbie Skaggs grandparents or parents I believe. Not sure if it still operates, I think it was out by Topeka, but not sure on location.

There is a pay place called Carbondale west about 50 miles from you but it is mostly woodsy trails with a small scrambles type track. I'll be heading out there Saturday (weather permitting) and am always looking for someone mature and reliable to ride with. There is also a place up by Topeka called Oakland with trails and random grass tracks. The soil is better there but it's kinda sketchy. My e-mail is geedavid@att.net if you want to talk.

Carbondale was a blast. Do they still have the motorcycle shop there?

Yeah look up KC Moto on Facebook. Do you only ride tracks or are you into hare scrambles as well? Also check out Letko, the KTM dealer in Olathe. They are plugged in to the riding scene and can help point you in the right direction.

Great track its 15 minutes from me, check out Midwest extreme park when you get a chance, they have made a lot of track changes over the past few months, can't wait for it to open again. It's on 5minutes from me snd both are about an hour from you.

Check out FMHSC.com. That's the local hare scramble series. There is a race this weeks about an hour from you. Great organization and you'll meet lots of people that way.

Haven't yet, did last year, had some bad luck with freak deals, not this year though, been following it, have some friends that run all the races so I keep up on it pretty good, this was my first race last year, it's so close that you don't have too much prep for it.

Yeah it's nice that most of the races are fairly close. I haven't done the series for about 5 years so I haven't been to most of the locations yet. Just hoping this weekend isn't super rough and rocky. I've had enough of that for a while.

Nope, just trying to find a buyer I believe. What a waste of a great facility.

I thought the laws were lenient but I didn't know they weren't I just wish I knew people with private land to ride on

We just moved from about 20 minutes from Olathe about 4 months ago. Kingsville and Merwin are good but Merwin isn't open much anymore. GV is not much of a prep usually. The track at knobby hill is alright but the people running it are total Dbags. You don't have a lot of choices around for moto. I didn't go to KCMOTO before we left. It was just getting going and it was too expensive for practice for me.
