Not that I remember......we definitely didn't call him 'Skippy' back home that's for sure. Maybe he got that when doing the world mx....

Most people's nicknames back home are their last name with a 'y' on the end..... Smile

This was mentioned in ask ping, but I just want to put it out there that TP199, BT101, RV2, etc. are lame nicknames and should be stopped!

I always figured the fastest man on the planet would be a land speed record holder or an Astronaut.Whistling Wink

Travis "Kamikaze" Pastrana (For his win or die trying attitude)

Jim "Pancake" DeChamp (For failed front flip attempt at x games and many more on MTB's)

... These are just some thoughts.

The current rider's nick names seem lame because the guys from the '70 '80 era had all the cool ones. Jammer, Bomber etc. The guys today could have cool nick names but they would have to change their image first. For instance, if RV could somehow swap places with J-Law you could call him 'Villain". 'Nearly' Nick Wey if only he would wear some coke bottle black rim glasses. Andrew Short could be 'Stymie' if he could get starts like MA or, 'Short Cut' if, well, you know. Mike Brown got tagged with 'Brownie' but should have been 'Bouncer'. Tim Ferry would have been 'Fairy' reguardless of his inclination had he gone to school around here.
