IF you had watched Herlings and Cairoli round Lommel or Leirop in person then you would probably have a very different opinion. I understand the overcoming need to be so much more right than a euro but as 99% of us here are true moto fans who travel and spend quite alot of $$ and ££ to watch our heroes then maybe you should value an opinion that is different than your own and also alot more informed on the present subject.

I too think Herlings will demolish everyone at Lommell. I just think Toni C222 will be 10seconds back from Jeffrey.

And don't be surprised to see Belguim or France win it by going 3/4 in every moto.
I dont see Jeffrey beating AC222, I know hes the sand man but so is AC222 he rides around on cruise control and wins titles left and right, when he pushes hard thats as fast as a 350 can go.

Herlings will win both of his motos, unless he crashes...Cairolli will be tough...but if you think there won't be any Americans within 30 seconds of them at the finish you are just up in the night screaming at the top of your lungs crazy.

There is sand in America...you know that right? Stewart, and Dungey both train in Florida...Florida is sand.

Come on dude...if your fishing, then stop...if your serious, just stop posting because you're making yourself look like a half wit moron.

I get so sick of the "in person" argument....it's BS. Someone can see MORE on TV than a person at the races.

Anyway, I'm not doubting Herlings OR Cairoli's sand abilities. They are the best sand riders in the world. All I'm saying is that it's crazy to assume that there won't be any American's within 30 seconds of them. Dungey (and Stewart was right there with him...beating him, actually) is currently putting 45 seonds on the rest of the riders in the AMA....and it will probably be more at Southwick (not "real" sand, blah blah blah blah). The Americans may not beat Herlings/Cairoli, but they will not be 30 seconds behind 2nd place and 40 seconds behind the leader (at least not unless they crash). That is drastically underestimating the Americans ability (and no, I'm not underestimating herlings ability....the dude will win, unless he crashes).

Don't forget what he did to Roczen last year in the soft stuff at Lommel. He put 19 seconds on him in the 2nd moto, after crashing and still winning the first. In a race that had people like Paulin, who had won MXdN races over 50seconds back.

Toni hasn't really had a killer instinct at the Nations since that brilliant MX2/MX3 win at Matterley. I just don't think he'll be prepared to risk it racing with the kid at breakneck speeds.

And the TV makes it look easy and doesn't do the terrain justice. I base my opinions on your riders on having seen them or having seen comparable riders IN PERSON.

eg: Tedesco - comparable in speed to Short/Millsaps/Brayton

The funniest part of your post is "having seen them or having seen comparable riders IN PERSON"....LOL.

It's like the stupid comparisons that Mcread always makes....(a hypothetical example) well Seb Pourcel beat Coppings in 1998...and Coppings beat Windham in 2000...and Windham beat RC in 2004...so it only make sense that Seb Pourcel would beat RC in 2007.

"Comparable riders"...lol....

(and in recent years Tedesco has been significantly off the pace of Short, Millsaps, Brayton. I know the argument you are trying to make, and its that the Tedesco you saw in at the MXDN in 05 and 06-or 07?-is a comparable to Millsaps, Short, Brayton you're seeing on the podium in SX and in the top five in the nationals. And it's absolute comedy!)

last year Finland qualified with 27pts...... providing Herlings finishes, they just need Coldenhoff / de Reuver / Bastemeijer / Brakke to get a top 20 and they're golden

i think they should be alright

Before i continue can you just make me aware of Coppings and who/what he is, then I'll comment on all those words YOU put into my mouth. Is that John Coppings? The fella who looks like Josh Coppins?

I don't get your point, Tedesco when at the des nats repesented your 3/4th quickest rider. Is Alessi or Short or Millsaps or Weimer suddenly going to be a class above what Ivan was in 05 or 09?

Am i supposed to just submit to your superior motocross knowledge of everything bar world class riders actual names?

Do you see where I said it was "a hypothetical example". Do you KNOW what "hypothetical" means? It means NOT real...it's made up. The names don't even matter....it was just a made up example of the foolishness that Mccread engages in in defense of the GP's...it's comedy. Just like you claiming to be an expert on how fast short, millsaps, alessi, brayton are riding TODAY because you watched "IN PERSON" Tedesco race a one off race 5 years ago....It's just foolishness. I almost can't even contemplate the level of stupid that kind of talk stoops too. (I honestly thought his last name was Coppings...my bad...Coppins it is from here on out.)

Anyway, enough is enough...have a good day.

Bastemeijer / Brakke and de Reuver are a lot better at Lommel, than St Jean.... and a lot of teams will be worse at Lommel than they were at St Jean

Yes Coly, enough is enough. You're just digging deeper and deeper. I know us Americans are easy to hate because we are the best at motocross and we will prove it again in a few months. I know what you're gonna say, blah blah blah. We'll see who has sand in their vaginas then.

If Stewart or Villopoto ride I would put them right up there alongside AC and Herlings when it comes to possible race winners. I don't care if neither of them have seen Lommel before, they're too skilled to not be able to adapt to the track and both ride with the kind of ferocity that a track like Lommel requires.

Dungey will be solid, Barcia will be (in my opinion) a little reckless and probably crash a lot, Tomac and Baggett could do well if they continue in the vein they're in right now. Endurance will be a massive factor, which could maybe rule RV out?

The bottom line is, whoever the USA picks will still all be perfectly capable of top 10 race results and that will put them in with a great chance of taking home the trophy. All they have to do is ride smart and not crash, but that is easier said than done at Lommel.

My (ridiculously premature) prediction is;

1. Belgium
2. USA
3. France

You've got it wrong, its more because only one of you could reply so aggressively to a post about someone talking with authority when they lack knowledge of the subject, while displaying a lack of knowledge about the subject.

It shows the mentality when anyones alternate opinion can be taken, twisted and made into something that was never said. And the term hypothetical can suddenly be used to try and cover up an idiotic mistake.

Send Short, Alessi and Tedesco.

All joking, aside...

The aforementioned Team should go as "Puerto Rico".

Btw, I'd put them down as Co-Contenders for the Win.

Its motocross you can't foresee anything, I didn't foresee Cairoli having 2 DNF's last year at MXOD or Pourcel going out with a tyre of the rim. Nothing is a given in motocross especially in the deep sand of Lommel.

I say lets just wait intill Saturday of the Nations is over and then we all know a bit more, intill then lets just enjoy the Gp's and AMA nationals and all talk in a few months time about who might do what.
