Yeah, thought it was pretty pathetic myself. I wouldn't have guessed 42000 in attendence.
You So Cali people...what's up with that?? High crime area or what?

The only part of the stands that were sparse were the left field bleachers from what I saw.

Yes I thought it would be more full. No complaints for a first time venue. We gotta remember that Anaheim has been hosting sx since the 90's. And there is a routine for so cal peeps. If they keep the one round at Dodger over time it will only get better.

Poor LA.

The supposed center of the motocross world with twice the population of Atlanta, and yet they can't sell half the seats that are filled in the Georgia dome.

Two things that might help,

Bring back one punch and simucast in spanish over a FM radio frequency.

Wait till you see how empty Oakland is gonna be. With both LA and Oakland ,not many families into visiting gang land to see the race.

They shoulda left them at Anaheim and San Francisco.

It's the schedule. There is a limited number of SX fans anywhere with a limited amount of money. There are 4 events in the same geographical area, SOCAL. Anaheim, LA, SD all basically the same area.

Atlanta will have 75,000 people and is electric. The pits will have around 24,000 people stroll through. By far the best atmosphere of any SX we have attended.

Exactly fans from NC drive 6+ hrs from NC to get to the closet SX race in Atlanta because there is no Charlotte SX meanwhile Jacksonville and Toronto races are half empty. Even the rider don't want to go to Toronto.

We drive to Indiapolis because of no more Pontiiac SX. Dont lump the SX's at Ford field in with the past success of the silver dome. The last year at the silver dome there was around 52,000. The following year at ford field it was like 20000.

How is that not PC?

I have to read bilingual signs at a lowes in BFE.

If you happen to have a race in an area with a large hispanic populace, would it not make sense to have some hispanic announcers that could be listened to on a FM broadcast?

Um,

yeah,

It seats over 70,000 and has sold out several times.

After looking at those pictures it is pretty clear that 42000 is wishful thinking. 35000 would be more realistic.

I was at Dodger Stadium and didn't think there was anywhere near 42,000 people there. I have no idea where they came up with these numbers.

I would have said more like 25,000.

I don't think it matters where in LA they hold the races. Having 3 sx in LA, plus one in SD are too many for southern California. Why not hold one in Sacremento area if you want to keep it in Cal? One in Oregon? But not 4 total in So. California! That's too much for this economy to handle.

They must be using YS's numbering system. I rememeber MXA talking about how they said there was 40,000 at the USGP and Jody was like there were lucky to have 10k.

Showed up at 7pm, got in and parked in under 10 mins, left the stadium and was out in under 10 mins, they had 3 exits and it worked. Not the most desirable places around the stadium, but I thought it was good, crowd was new, I think they brought in new people to a new venue that can only grow from there. Plus they (dodger stadium) worked with them (feld) and didn't get too greedy like other stadiums have been. LA has huge potential, good market and good exposure for a sport that needs all the help they can get. SX needs more exposure, just like the x-games. Jeremy McGrath and Travis Pastrana had the highest noise from the crowd, just shows what the X-Games have done for them.
