I agree. I was watching live timing and thought it was remarkable how he was able to slowly pick off many fast riders. Kevin still has it for sure!

He looked like the fastest guy on the track once he got going. He dropped Villopoto and made up a bunch of time on Shorty at the end. If he started with JS, Hill and Dungey, that might have been a different race.....

i noticed that too, crashed first turn in the heat race and came back to 5th I think?
