woww... that was bullshit. Picone just pushed him out wide and made JT's front end go into the soft stuff. His post-moto tactics were embarrassing to say the least

Awesome day of racing at Dade city. I catch most the races online and they never disappoint. As far as JT$ and Pine cone go I have no opinion on that. I just say it's racing and tempers flare at times. No biggie IMO.

What a cool series.

Didn't JT come here talking about Freise being dirty? That was a hell of a lot worse.

True dat. Unbelievable really to see JT on here bitching about another riders tactics during the race and then he pulls that bullshit AFTER the race is over. No respect from me on that move, should have been DQ'ed and ejected from the race.

That's funny. I was just thinking that it looked like a fun and safe track. I can see that it would be boring for higher level riders though.

I use to race there 10+ years ago and the track looks identical to what we use to run. Except they're running it backwards on that night.

It looked to me like JT meant to rub elbows with him but It's hard to believe that his intent was to knock Picone off his bike. The little swerve to avoid the sign made it a bit worse than probably intended. If Picone has 2 hands on the bars I bet he stays up.

The rest of the pack looked they were slamming into each other pretty hard as well.

Anyone know if R.J. Hampshire is related to Ricky Hampshire, FL fast guy from the 80's/90's?

mx seems like it's lost its balls.

20 years ago knocking people over was the norm...

Even in nascar they are bringing rubbing back....and getting intentionally wrecked is a part of the sport.

Heck, who was it who said way back when that if the door was left open...they would try to break the guys leg... (maybe bailey and johnson)

I think it was handled fine at dade...bummer picone couldn't race second moto, JT was mad..and frankly not for much reason...he wasn't flat out cleaned out in the least...

The alessa townley stuff with the lawyers etc...is just sad. If townley wishes to yardsale alessi, he should be allowed to. Typically when one focusses on taking out someone else they ruin their own result...

I think the line should be drawn now days at intent to hurt. Villopoto clearly cleaned out mike in the 250's that one pass at buds creek (right track????). But he had no intent to seriously hurt mike from the looks of it.

taking someones wheel on a jump...would be intent to hurt - or crossing under...

But if you get moved out of the way in a corner...tough titty, that's racing and I see too many parents and riders get all pent up about it even at the local level.. go faster or get moved!

Mess with the bull, get the horn.....

lol... j/k

You guys are all overreacting. I am sure in the heat of the moment JT meant to bump him but surely wasn't expecting what had happened. I have seen a lot worse.

AMA regulars should stay away from local stuff.

Yeah that track hasn't changed in for ever. That was definitely a dirty ass move, I would have snapped if that happened to me! But, at the same time I am sure he didn't intend for him to go down.

Seems pretty cool, but is it just an open race? How is the little Keylon and Hampshire racing against JT$ and Kyle?

If it's the pro class, they better be careful on who's looking. They aren't riding A at LL. But I know they aren't that dumb.
7/3/2010 9:38am
Its an open money class.. You only have to be an A or B class rider to enter. Also the AMA and NMA do not give a rats ass, as this night race is not sanctioned by them, so it does not affect ones amatuer status.

Alot of places have the B's and the A's run together.

They may just call it the dash for cash or trophy dash or open.

100% agree. Everybody is so sensitive these days. I remember my first AM race in the 80's. Got the holeshot and was promptly moved off the track 3 corners later! I didn't have my parents run over to the other guys pit and cause a fuss. I took it as a lesson learned! BTW it was Hannah they would break the guys leg (though it was in reference to DeCoster back in the Trans-AMA days) . As long as it isn't over jumps, let it go and the faster man will win.

Local sponsors put in bikes and support to compete against each other on the local level. It is a good example what more local tracks around the country should do. People gossip about it just like they do the pro races..Who's switching teams, who's hurt, etc etc

It doesn't affect the rider's eligibility for the B or A classes at Loretta's because the money is paid to the sponsors not the riders. What that sponsor decides to do with that money is up to them. If the rider gets to keep the money it's considered contingency by the sponsor....

Riding back to the pits and having a rider clean you out and taking care of business on the track are 2 different deals.

As far as the Hannah reference goes. If he was not fast enough to make the pass he would just take you out. I look at Hannah more as a old school pussy than I do as if he is some sort of badass.

Old school pussy? How old are you 15? Not only sensitive, but not up on the history of this great sport. Hannah never took out or hit anyone that didn't start w/him first. Did he move guys out of the way or take advantage if the door was open? Yes. The faster guys all did back then. Some do now, but have to worry that the someone from the other guys posse or his Mommy & Daddy will hire a lawyer or run to the AMA! 7 time AMA champion (that held the win record until MC and RC came along) in an era much more competitive than now makes him one of the top 3-4 badasses in the history of the sport.
