A couple issues back, they alluded that it was Ryan Villopoto.

Pretty sure they are referring to MC in '97...

*Edit: or maybe it was Villo...?

Dungey maybe? Was 2010 the year that Suzuki really didn't import many bikes....or at least not early in the year?

Also interesting is that the pic they show as being "Dungeys KTM engine" has a kick starter. Maybe getting rid of the battery to get rid of some the top heavy feel?

The '10 450 was pretty much the same as the '09 and I'm pretty sure they had '10 bikes in dealerships by mid supercross series so that wouldn't be it.

Yep, good info. It also pretty much clears up the whole LB vs CR debate.

That's just a picture of the current 450 EXC (Enduro Cross Country) bike which usually comes with a kickstarter.

Good Article but looks like they need a new editor. Plenty of grammar errors.

"It should be noted that KTM did release Mike Alessi for the remaining days of his KTM contract—and he was been filmed riding a Suzuki."

Each manufacturer was given a one time exemption to the production rule to aid in the development of new bikes/technology.

Yes, but didn't KTM use this already with their 4 stroke 250?
Also, Suzuki used this in 2005 when RC rode their 450 four stroke to win the MX title.

Suzuki used it when Tortelli first rode the 450.

KTM originally used the "one time works bike" rule when Lance Smail raced a 550 in SX. Then they used it again for the 250 4 stroke. Then they used it again for the 350 with Alessi in SX. Now they are looking to use it again with a EFI 450 for Dungey.....

The 350 fell under the don't have to be available until May after the SX series is already over rule that isn't written didn't it? Alessi wasn't that champion either.

Solid information. No bullshit. Wish it came out a month ago to kill the speculation.

that clears up the muddy waters of silly season,

energy drink market share is the real power behind MX & SX racing.

they are reffering to the MC bike in 97. it says "supercross champion" not "championship". that suzuki had (that i know of) the USD forks, and a clutch basket/engine case that allowed for extra clutch disks because MC rode the clutch so hard. who knows what else it hasd, mcgrath was basically god back then.

they arent refering to henry, because he never won an sx championship (maybe a 125 regional?)
